Rowan,

It's going to be about 10 degree Celsius in Melbourne for tonight's game between PTA and HAW. I'm home alone and have 4 PTA players running around, so should I...

1. Get a slab of Carlton Draught OR
2. Go exotic and get a slab of International Beer to keep me company?
I'm not Rowan, but I vote Exotic!

I'm not Rowan either but wouldn't a slab of Southwark be appropriate..

Thanh, you'll have the solitude to truly enjoy the exotic, without the distractions. Go the exotic!

Hey Slammer,
I think you hold off getting your FD for now. He can be one of the last pieces of the puzzle, or an option when you have no downgrade targets. If you want to hang onto Kerridge, I'd upgrade in the Def line this week. Hutchings is playing North, and North have been conceding some decent Mid scores since Jacobs has been out, even to 3rd and 4th stringers. I'd roll the dice on Hutchings this week.
I think either of Boyd and McVeigh are good options. Boyd has a good run home, with 5 games to come at Etihad, where averaged 106 last season, and 103 this season. Given the way the season has been structured, I think he's only an outside chance to get rested from here. McVeigh has a bit of travelling in his Draw, but he averaged roughly the same interstate last year, as he did at home. He does have 6 small gounds, 1 medium and 1 large ground game to come. Last season his averages were: Sm 13/97, Med 5/106, Lge 2/112 so we can see he prefers larger grounds. Maybe that is the tipping point between him and Boyd, though I think they will both be good picks.
Cheers Rows,
Still no Trengove and as I expected Phillips dropped.
Any ideas on who to offload? Both Ruggles and Collins still have cash to make. They are the only two I can really upgrade in backline
Could go Tippa for Silvagni and Ruggles/Collins to Boyd

Hey Rowsus

Im bringing in a D6 and F6 this week, moving on AMT and Petracca. Any stats/recommendations between JJ/McVeigh, and Montagna/JJK?

I like McVeigh's game style but his role sometimes changes week to week which can affect his scoring, and JJ is coming back from a long term injury

Montagna vs JJK is a bit trickier i think since the former should slow down considering the age factor, but still seems to be going well. And JJK has a soft run left in the year but is also a KPP.

Happy to hear other suggestions too! I'll be bringing dahlhaus into my fwd line too once he drops to 400-420k coming back from his injury

Cheers
Hey a_gups,
if money isn't an option, I'd be going McVeigh/Montagna.
JJ is a risk. Coming back from imjury, and no real Premium history before early this season.
JJK doesn't have many games to come, where we can truly be hopeful that he'll go 130+. Montagna should be more consistent.

Hey there Row.
Seeking your guidance once again. (just a quick one this time)

Backline consists of Shaw, Boyd, Rance, McVeigh, Laird, Smith. (Collins, Lee.)
Have some coin banked and looking to upgrade Smith with 1 trade.
Basically trying to find the defender who will score the most points on the run home for under 485.8k.
Gibson seems safe but up and down, very keen on Zac Williams. Others considered would be Enright and JJ.

Can you see any other hidden gems out there ?
Thought I had to run this question by you before committing to the trade, your JJK call in 2014 worked so well for me towards the end of that season.
Many thanks mate.
Hey there Creek.
No hidden gems in Def right now. I'd be tossing up between the young (Williams) and the old (Enright).
It's the old history versus potential question, which usually Means, back history.
I'll vote for Enright.

Thanks for the advice guys, looking likely to give Lycett a miss now and just do the 1 trade to get Zorko in.
In regards to unearthing a D/F player, what are your thoughts on Hipwood who is on the bubble this week? His JS seems OK due to Lions wanting to play the young guys.
My problem with Adams is that while he seems to have a high-ish ceiling, he seems to get injured far too easily and that really beats the purpose of having him as swing cover if he can't stay on the park.
Would I be better off downgrading him to Hipwood, bank the extra cash and play Collins for D6 temporarily until I can upgrade him to Docherty/Boyd? That would mean Hipwood becomes my D7/F7 swingman.
Thanks again!
Don't really like the Hipwood move. I think it'd be better just keeping Adams. I agree that he's missing far too many games, this is the 3rd time he's out. But in terms of D/F options (which you need desperately), at least Adams has JS which I don't think Hipwood has much of either. You'd hate to get Hipwood and then for him to get dropped. I think it's a lot safer to just roll with Collins for a while and keep Adams for cover.
I tend to agree with B18 (again!)
I wouldn't be touching Hipwood. High-priced, low scoring Rookie, with questionable JS.

You've been pretty patient with your trades.
Unless you need to trade, to win an important match up, maybe just ride the week out.
If you have to trade, i'd be more inclined to hold Collins, and trade Ruggles.

Hi Juzzo,
I'd go none of the above, and hold your trades. You need to get the maximum value out of them from here, and with no cows mooing, and no major distress happening (pending tonights selections!), I'd just bide my time, and try and get a cow to moo, or only trade where necessary.
Thanks mate.

No Barlow or Phillips means eating a donut this week.
No links atm, unfortunate that I have 2 on the bench in mids and one in defence, but copping a donut in forwards.
I'll loop Crouch and McVeigh in mids with Trengove and in defence Collins and Aliir with Lee.

Cheers

Hey Row,

Would be keen to hear your thoughts. With Wells out, would you trade or hold him if you had him?

Hey Rowsus; rehashing old ground, but with Cox out, there is another angle to this.

What is the maximum Hannebery can score to allow me to trade Cox to him next week with one trade, knowing that I have $260,400 in the bank - $6,700 away from a straight swap?

Projected to score 98 with a BE of 118. If that occurs he is projected to lose 9.0K. So you are looking at around low 100s.
