I was enjoying the story before you even mentioned Robbie Muir. I need to know why Cheap as Chips was significant or I won't be able to go to bed? :)
Haha. That was just where he was parked and an easy place for my ex work mate to explain where he was.

A strange thing happened at work today. An ex workmate who lives 50km away rang me and wanted me to go up the street and give a bloke he knows $50, he’d left his wallet home and was parked outside Cheap as Chips. I said no worries, who is it? He said Robbie Muir. I said, yeah, sure mate good one, who is it really? He said Robbie Muir. I said the St Kilda footballer? Yep he said, anyway long story short I went up gave him the fiddy, had a chat for a while. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but he was a really nice, genuine bloke. Looking a lot older, heavier and a big grey beard. My ex workmate is involved at the Church where he lives not far from where i work and live and has helped Robbie out a fair bit over the years. I thought about asking for a photo but was a bit hesitant so didn’t. He must do a bit of footy umpiring because he asked me if they needed an umpire around the place.

A very different work morning for me!

and why you gave a stranger $50 just because an ex workmate that you’ll probably never see again told you too..

This ex workmate is now a pastor, well respected around the place, I had no problem with it. If it was a dodgy ex workmate or something I felt unsure about I would have said no.
I like the good deed you done!
RE: "...…… he’d left his wallet home ……."
I'm just wondering why Robbie Muir didn't drive home to get his wallet? Not important to know, just curious.

This clip always makes me laugh. I mean, what did that mouth guard ever do to deserve that treatment? Classic Robbie.

He was over 50 ks from home and needed to buy something for a friends car and some fuel.

Robbie was on Footy Show some years back, pretending his was throwing a tantrum talking with Sam Newman. Think he attempt to push the table upside down . ha ha

Interesting article on afl.com.au about the Suns , once Lynch leaves they will just have just seven players remain from the original 2011 list.

Harbrow, Rischitelli and Day will know their fate soon, while May, Swallow, defender Rory Thompson and ruckman Tom Nicholls all have another 12 months.

8 seasons in and they might have to start all over again.

interesting

how many more on your list remain as well ?

Suns took 8-10 players from other clubs so 40 + under the draft, concessions etc and only 7 + Lynch less 8 or so other lists means about 30 or so they drafted are all gone already , I guess they would have hoped half of them would still be their and in their prime.

Maybe 2 more at best. Casboult may have been on rookie list in 2011. Kruezer certainly was playing back then.

so having seen how many Sins remain from their original list , I thought I would look at the Giants list for 2012

49 players on their list

14 remain (Buntine , Cameron , Coniglio , Davis , Greene , Haynes , Kennedy , Mohr , Patton , Reid , Scully , Shiel , Tomlinson , Ward)

14 at other clubs in 2018 (Adams , Bruce , Bugg , Frost , Hampton , Hombsch , Hoskin-Elliott , Miles , Phillips , Smith , Townsend , Treloar , Tyson , Wilson)

21 gone

Aylett , Brogan , Clifton , Cooyou , Cornes , Farley , Downie , Edwards , Folau , Giles , Golds , Growden , McDonald , O'hAilpin , Palmer , Power , Schulz , Segrave , Sumner , Ugle , Whiley

In 1975 (the last season of one umpire on the field) there were 138 games played and 10,266 Free Kicks paid for the season.
That's an average of 74.3/game.

In 1992 (the last season of two umpires on the field) there were 172 games played and 8,734 Free Kicks paid for the season.
That's an average of 50.8/game.

In 2018, up to the end of Round 19, there were 162 games played and 6,782 Free Kicks paid for the season.
That's an average of 41.9/game.

The extra umpires were supposedly introduced to pick up the Free kicks that were being missed, yet less and less Free kicks are being paid.

In 2018 there have been 21,066 tackles laid so far, that's an average of 130/game. Holding the ball/incorrect disposals Free Kicks are running at around 15/game. That means that just over 10% of tackles are getting the full reward.

The Coaches have been saying it this season, and I agree with them. Instead of setting up Netball type zones, just officiate the rules we have properly. More Free Kicks and less stoppages will spread the congestion, it's that simple. Stop letting guys just hang onto the ball in tackles, and force a ball up. They will soon move it on, or be penalised, and either way, it's better than a stoppage.

Why can't the AFL see this, instead of introducing 6/6/6 zones, or 18 metre goal squares?

130 tackles/game, for 12-15 Free Kicks, and the extra umpires are there to find previously missed infringements?!

Give me a break! (the game is being administered by monkeys!)

I agree, or they should provide a breakdown by membership type.

This is the break down by club. Impressive by the tigers supporters nevertheless. Up almost 40%!

What are the Pies doing wrong to have membership numbers decline, against an overall average of +11%, when we are finals-bound for the first time in years?!
