Not sure how many watch The FB, footy show, but as far as footy shows go, its probably the only one I watch these days, turned it on last nght and saw that Jobe Watson was on.
As a someone who loves AFL, it was great to see him on last night and given the hell he has been through over the last couple of years it was awesome to see that he had come out the otherside OK. He seemed to be very settled and contented (or as settled and contented as he could be) and very much looking forward to the rest of his life after football, expecting his first child and seting up businesses. As expected he seemed to be still pretty jadded about football which is a shame, he was not necessarily the most gifted footballer, but through hard work and determination he got the best out of himself. It was very enjoyable to watch.
But as a Dees, man the highlight of course was seeing Allen Jakovich having pretty much not heard anything about him since he retied. It was great to see the vision of him terrorising fullbacks back in his day, in particular the day against Nth Melb when he kicked 11 goals 8 against Micky Martin. He on the otherhand was a ver naturally gifted footballer and from a Melbourne supporters point of view it was a shame he only played 47games for the Dees given he averaged just over 4 goals a game.
