I posted before the possible lighter iteration of the 666 came out in the media.

I think the full blown starting positions (not just centre bounces) could have massive implications on players scoring in SC.

less stoppages would mean less tackels and hitouts just as a start.
Yep reckon it means those players that traditionally play the +1 behind the ball (Lloyd/Sicily) have their scoring impacted too. Might only be 5-10% as its only the missed possessions before they roll back but that’s the difference between a 2 and 3 figure average.

Hmmm.

Change is in the air, hey?

I wonder how someone like me, who lives in the fastest changing place and space, in the fastest changing times ever, will go.

He he.
;-)

Actually, I'll probably go ****e.

Scrolled a while for this. Think he is definitely def eligible next year and will be one of the highest % ownership players to start 2019.
I am not sure when he got D/M status in AFL Fantasy but if gets D status in SC for 2019 he is my starting side.

I went 1-1-6 in defence this season , at this stage I might be going 6-0-2 next season.

Laid , Lloyd , Whitfield , Doc , Williams , Andrews/Short

Melbourne have signed former Melbourne Renegade cricketer Guy Walker as a Category B rookie.

Pretty sure Patrick McKenna may have captained the Australian U19 side also.

Adds to signing Bradkte earlier this year.

Little confused here

Struggling to work out how the extension of the goal square and 6-6-6 starting positions helps with the "general congestion" around the game.

1. Yes a extra 9 metres for the guy kicking in gives him extra distance to kick , but if it is not a clean mark isn't it just moving the congestion a extra 9 metres ?

2. 6-6-6 is OK as it allows the 4 players in the square a little more time for a clearance before they are swamped so again if that get a clean kick into the F50 that will help but again solved nothing re general play.

So maybe , just maybe umpire the game properly , if a player is tackled and does not dispose of the ball by a kick or handball they are holding the ball and pay a free kick , quite simple really , dispose of the ball correctly.

Secondly this ruck nomination rule is farcical , throw it up/in and not wait , if 1 from each side contests well and good , if 2 from each side contest pay a free , again simple , it is not rocket science.

where do you fit him in ?

Laird , Lloyd , Yeo
Whitfield
Docherty , Williams
Andrews , Short , Witherden
Roberton might be reasonably priced as well

The first 3 could all be priced over $580k
Brayshaw at around $520k could meet a structural need
I didn't touch any of Laird , Hibberd , Hurley or Yeo this season st their starting prices so unlikely to pay $ 580k next year.

Might very well come down to Doc's discount and how he is looking preseason to determine the makeup of defences.

Williams might be back soon so we can gauge his recovery.

Just have to wait for prices and positions to be released.

I agree. I also doubt Brayshaw will be Def as he seems to have been playing mostly Mid.

If he’s a defender, he’s right at the top of the list for me.

I’m not sure how realistic it is but I’d probably start 2 of Lloyd/Laird/Whitfield and either Doc/Williams depending on discount. Then a Brayshaw/Witherden type.

I almost hoping Brayshaw doesn’t have defender status looking at it now!

He's almost been a pure mid for the last 10 or so weeks hasn't he?
Haha yeah. I wasn’t sure how he started the year and whether he’d spent enough time in the backline to qualify for DPP. Assuming they take the whole year’s games into consider when deciding positions.

Was only thinking yesterday about picking him as a POD pure mid next season.

I think he’s got massive upside
Agreed. He had that slowish start which makes him a little under priced. Also room for improvement efficiency wise (I’m assuming from his DT:SC ratio) and plenty of natural improvement which will come when he gets some continuity in his play.

What I like most about him is his ability to find the footy and to rack up massive numbers, which makes him fantasy gold.

Just a random thought, would the game be more enjoyable/strategic/skilful if we increased the number of fwds and defenders by 1 or 2? I don’t hate the idea of having 8 fwd/def to be honest.

So there will be less Mids then?
I don't think there would be enough good Defs or Fwds to fill our teams. The lower Fwds and Defs are very inconsistent, so for league games, luck will play a larger role then what it does now.

7 mids with a choice of a 7th def or fwd would be good. Mainly because I always fk up my M8 hahaha.

Although next year, I could easily pick 7 defs

You say luck, I say skill! ?

But good point, the game has become more about filling your team with top shelf premiums rather than second tier players. Personally I like the idea of more PODs which having more def/fwd would encourage.
