Before the draft, some rated Rankine as the top draft pick. But since Carlton picked Walsh first, a lot of the media attention has gone to Walsh and Rankine a bit forgotten. If people reckon that Walsh is a good selection in the midfield, then maybe Rankine might be a better selection as a forward, as there seems to be a bit of indecision selecting cheap forwards and Rankine is a forward.
And it looks like he is likely to play round 1.
