Have had Macrae since my first team because it stung so much not having him last year when he went ballistic, but am now considering swapping him out for someone cheaper to make sure I have enough cash for any rookie corrections. I've also got Cripps, Oliver, Fyfe and Cogs in my midfield so am already pretty stacked (in my opinion).

Question is:

Macrae vs Neale

is Schultz one of those SC unfriendly forward pocket types? if so then i'd stay way especially with Matera back from suspension next week.
Burgess should at least get a decent crack at it even if his scoring ability wont be much better.
Duursma and Scrimshaw is pretty much a wash. i dont think either have outstanding scoring potential or JS.

A
I personally dont see Matera as a walk up start next week...I reckon if Schultz puts in a good performance, he's every chance of retaining his spot. Having said that, I wont be selecting him, I agree with the poopinghindi re scoring potential and I am trying to avoid those small forward types with iffy JS.

Neale if you feel you need the money.

I’m gambling on Macrae getting affected by some tags in the first 6 weeks with Hewett, Howe, Miller and Banfield on his schedule. Contrary to what many have said the prospectus rates Miller as a tagger. That being said he didn’t do a good job on Macrae when he got sent to him in Q3 last year. There was evidence that Macrae’s output can be reduced by tags last year. Banfield kept him to 98, Hutchings to 74 and Harmes kept him to 10 disposals in a second half after he had 23 in the first.

It’s the gamble I’ll make but I reckon I’ll still need to get him as soon as possible.

This can still backfire because the tags might not occur and he might break them, his blend of inside and outside would suggest he’s hard to tag. He could come out and hurt those who don’t have him so it’s really up to you, but I won’t start him.

Neale, only if that 80k gets you a significant upgrade i reckon either premo or rookies, if you can't see a really good use for the money stick with Macrae

Andrews vs Milera vs Witherden
Andrews for me. Looked like a great pick before he was trailed forward (check out his scores pre injury) so I then went to Witherden. Have now gone back to Andrews given Witherden didn’t perform quite as well in the JLT as I would have liked, and I don’t think he got much of a kick in benefit as I had hoped.

Thanks mate - are you reasonably comfortable on his JS and having a decent SC role, or do you think that’s a risk?
BB mentioned a while back that Hore is in for Lever and that Frost would likely make way for May. I’m running with that so hope he’s right ?

Thanks mate. Lever looks to be listed as out for 6-10 so Hore should get a decent run at it on that basis.

I reckon I will stick with Hore and trade Wilkie in (for my worst def) if warranted.

I'm taking both Wilkie and Hore as D7 and D8. I'm hoping that at least one of them can provide ok'ish cover. Probably the most weakish part of my side but one has to take a risk somewhere.
Are you starting Scrimshaw, Collins and Clark as well Phil?

I bet that's something you'd never have imagined yourself typing before.
