That’s me out on Heeney as a starter, he picks up too many minor injuries that are annoying. It won’t affect his fitness but this kind of thing affects your touch when you return and can recur.

Not sure where I find the money to move up to Dusty and I don’t really want to start Dusty but now have to. I’m certainly not comfortable picking Greenwood or Dawson. Greenwood has some promise with more mid time but I don’t know if he’s got a great enough tank to even play considerably more mid time and GC players automatically have issues scoring points

Well, maybe he is like Grundy who had a broken toe last pre-season and it doesn't affect his scoring at all. Could be still worth starting him? Any stats on players after coming back from a broken thumb?

Gunston and Gresham no. But Wingard yes.

I'll be watching him awfully closely in the Hawks intra club and Marsh Series games. Think he will play majority midfield this year, and rest forward where we know he can impact the scoreboard. At $412K I like him a heap more than other popular guys like Steven and Smith at this stage.

The main issue for me is that he relies on contested marks for his scoring. Hard to pick him if we don't see a preseason game.

He averaged 100 for 2 seasons with Geelong playing him as a half forward (or did he have stints in the middle before Kelly arrived?). If he fills the hole left by Kelly or partly fills the role of an inside mid could he be a sneaky cheap M8 and get to 105-110? Injuries are a concern but he has shown he can post some big scores.
