In the mix: Roppongian Rangers
The Roppongian Rangers suffered a devastating loss at the hands of the Jets over the weekend and their 2020 prospects were further dented with injuries to five key players. Hannebery (hamstring), Nankervis (ankle), Rowell (shoulder), Scrimshaw (foot), and Hogan (calf) all suffered injuries over the weekend, with the first three names expected to be out for an extended period. Josh Daicos has continued to press his case all year in the reserves and it would be hard to see him not getting his chance to play his first game for the Rangers. Merrett should also come straight back in after suspension. Meanwhile, Allen had an impressive game in the reserves and should get a chance to return after being dropped earlier. In defence, fans are starting speculate at the reasons for Blakely's continued non-selection despite pressing his case in scratch matches, with Coach Sho refusing to comment earlier. A lackluster defensive performance would usually see the coach swing changes however, with limited defensive stocks, the Rangers are likely to recall Fritsch who put forward a solid performance after being dropped last round. However, the Rangers are sweating on the availability of reserve ruckman Sinclair who suffered a knee injury a fortnight ago. The rucks have been a rollercoaster for the Rangers in 2020 however, be prepared for the Rangers to potentially be one short again for the second time in 2020.
VERDICT: Hannebery, Nankervis, Rowell, Scrimshaw and Hogan out for Daicos, Merrett, Allen, Sinclair (if fit) and Fritsch. But don't be surprised to also see Stack replace Williamson or Redman who both had quiet rounds.
