Would Petrevski-Seton maybe move into the midfield or forward line maybe?

So with Simpson retiring, 2 spots open in defence for Saad & Newman.

Plowman - Jones - Newman

Docherty - Weitering - Saad

That's a quality defence.

I see Williams playing on a wing so a potential midfield of :-

Walsh - Cripps - Williams
Pittonet - Curnow - Setterfield (or Murphy)

McKay & Casboult as the 2 key fwd targets.

Jack Martin, Petrevski-Seton, Newnes & Betts as the small fwds.

Then you have Gibbons, Williamson (7th defender or wing), Kennedy, Cuningham, De Koning all competing for spots on the bench. Don't see McGovern as best 22 personally.

Plenty to like for the blues in 2021 I think.
no room for Charlie Curnow ?

great insight btw

Forgot about him ...

Best 22 even better now, could see the blues make the 8 easily providing they have some luck on the injury front.Marchbank another one that would be in the 22 when fit I would think.
I just have him on my forward watch list.

Fisher possibly as well.

Looks a strong team on paper.

Good deal for Carlton. Not so much for Geelong.

7,28,45 for 13,16,33 (with the 33-45) would be closer with a small premium paid by the cats.

The issue is convincing the Bombers that Pick 13 plus steak knives is enough for Saad.

I think keeping pick 7 and trading it for Saad with negotiating around the price of the steak knives back would work much better.

A little whisper I've heard today after I was initially surprised to not see Harry Jones as one of the Hawks delistings (was told yesterday he was also going to be delisted), that somewhat ties the two above posts together.

Jones' delisting announcement has been delayed as the Hawks await more clarity closer to the FA and Trade Period.
Lets just say there's a big name Bomber who's apparently on top of their wish list.

Looking at the uncontracted players, not sure who it would be.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/512547/where-s-my-contract-every-player-who-s-yet-to-sign-a-new-deal

Out of contract: Henry Crauford, Joe Daniher, Marty Gleeson, Brayden Ham, Kyle Langford, Jayden Laverde, Andy McGrath, Irving Mosquito, Andrew Phillips, Jordan Ridley, Adam Saad, Will Snelling, James Stewart, Jacob Townsend

Most of them I don't see moving, are not big names or are already committed to other clubs. Unless it's a contracted player such as Zerrett (who I know has been rumoured to be looking elsewhere, but I don't see him moving either).

Edit: Big rumour does seem to be Zerrett, as I expected. I still think it is unlikely - Bombers would ask for more than what the Hawks should pay. May help short term, but the Hawks need to get more depth rather than trading those sort of players/early picks out for one good player.
