@Herbie66 still no indication when he arrives.

Pakistan’s experienced all-rounder Imad Wasim has received his No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding his participation in the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).

Wasim is an integral part of Pakistan’s limited-overs squad that is currently touring New Zealand and sources are suggesting that he will have to leave for Australia after the conclusion of the T20I series against the hosts.

However, if the management feels like they want Imad in the Test side then the participation of the all-rounder in BBL becomes doubtful. It should be noted that Imad hasn’t played a single Test match for Pakistan yet despite making his debut six years ago.

The BBL is scheduled to start on the 10th of December and the Melbourne Renegades are looking to avail the services of the Karachi Kings’ captain. It is quite possible that Wasim will miss a couple of starting matches of the tournament because of his national duty.

I thought the Renegades mentioned (hoping) for the 26th December.

I am thinking might be easier not to pick any OS players this season.

BBL09:
A Turner: 7 matches for 1 over
Spin/Slow: 91.1 overs
Other: 161.2 overs

BBL08:
A Turner: 14 matches for 1 over
Spin/Slow: 56 overs
Other: 208.1 overs

BBL07:
A Turner: 11 matches for 0 overs
Spin/Slow: 44 overs
Other: 174 overs

BBL06:
A Turner: 10 matches for 14 overs
Spin/Slow: 45 overs
Other: 144.2 overs

Past 4 BBL Seasons= 236.1 overs of Spin/Slow from a possible 924 overs which equates to 25.56%.
Turner has bowled 16 of those 236.1 overs which equates to 6.78% of the slower paced overs bowled by A Turner.
Has had problems with his shoulder for years which has prevented him bowling, my understanding is he’s fine now, secondly agar is injured/in the Aus A squad and Perth only play 4 matches in Perth, where spin options aren’t really a priority so they desperately need more spin options than just Ahmed, so i think its quite likely he does get a few overs, particularly early on.

Renshaw at this stage
That’s interesting. I'd like to have an Adelaide player benched, preferably on every position. There is TWO D.G.W.s back-to-back for the Strikers, so, when you think about, with a bye in the first round and the fact that we'll also have to be focused on getting enough Hurricanes involved, as they have the same D.G.W., it becomes obvious we need to have at least 2 Strikers on our bench. But who? I'll break down Adelaide's full squad:

Asides from the first game, I don't think Nielsen gets a single game after that – with Carey there. As far as Carey goes, I think he costs too much money to have benched – especially since he'll miss the first game of the D.G.W.. With these two ruled out, it means we can't possibly start with 3 Strikers benched. Unless, of course, you double up in the batting or bowling section – which I think is stupid, as you need to test a player with the bench-loophole. Salt, Wells, Siddle, Briggs: all a little too pricey for their input. Don't see too much value there. I also believe Rashid Khan is way too much to have benched. Harry Conway and O’Connor are both decent options, but they probably won't get a game. Head is unavailable until the end of the tournament. Neser is unknown, also due to Australia and Australia A duties.

That leaves our decent options all the way down to Wes Agar, Weatherald, Renshaw, Short, and Worrall – all could work in some way or another, in my opinion. But here's where it gets sketchy: ...

Agar is $150K – (definitely on the pricey side) – Weatherald is $122K, but also with the unknown of his mental health and lack of recent cricket under his belt; Renshaw is $137K – (again, also on the pricey side, and you could just spend $13K more to get Agar) – lastly, there’s Short and Worrall... But let’s be honest: they're hacks. I don't even think I'd even USE Short for his double game in Round 2 – (just keep him on the bench) – and Worrall has never done anything to warrant our faith for a massive score. I think, out of these, Renshaw and Agar seem to be the best options here.

Of course, there's the option of picking Hurricanes players instead, alternatively benching the likes of Ellis, McDermott, Wright, or Handscomb... But with no bye in the first week and with only one D.G.W. compared to Adelaide's two, it's obvious that it's better to have Strikers there instead. What do you guys think? Who are you running with?

I found that as an interesting pink, but honestly, I prefer spending $13K more with Wes Agar. I'd like to have an Adelaide player benched, preferably on every position. It’s a toss up between Renshaw, Salt, Briggs
I’d like to take 2 of them but realistically can only afford one.
They will all be in my team come round 2 and are all nearly the same price.
I guess Renshaw gets the nod as he’s the cheapest and dual position.

Edit: Salt is actually the cheapest.

Who keeps?
Handscomb or McD?
Where does Handscomb bat (open)

No Wade
Is Paine playing
No, Paine is not playing till the back end of the tournament.

My guess is that McDermott keeps. Honestly, I believe Handscomb is useless at keeping.
I'd say Handscomb bats higher though, around 3-5, but it should change when internationals like Malan shift in. McDermott bats around 6, I'd say.

I’m running with Salt & Renshaw at the moment. Also considering Nielsen so I can use him for looping my keepers and/or VC loop once Carey is back.

Yes I have you on my list of members who were late to sign up but will be put into a league.

Planning to setup and send out tomorrow.

Sorry have been flat out with work and cricket the last couple of days, and was awaiting for enough numbers for another full league to get compiled.
All good, I was late with my entry tbf!
