Can anyone point me into the right direction to find stats on how Chad warners season in neafl went
2020 NEAFL season was postponed- https://www.afl.com.au/news/453828/no-neafl-in-2020-has-the-competition-played-its-final-game-

Per his profile on Swans website for his stats before being drafted
https://www.sydneyswans.com.au/players/3735/chad-warner
Warner impressed for Western Australia in the 2019 AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 18.2 touches (50 per cent contested), 3.2 clearances and 6.8 tackles per game. He also tallied an average of 27.1 disposals, 6.4 clearances and 7.4 tackles per match at Colts level for East Fremantle in 2019.

Not a fan of this at all from potential draftee Archie Perkins... If he doesn't want to play at any club that drafts him... Don't nominate for the draft and choose a different career. Clear draft tampering.

This kind of behavior from these kids needs to be penalized. I'd rule him ineligible for the draft personally after those comments.

Probably happens alot just doesn't get out into the media as often. I remember 3 others that didn't want to leave. Is an annoying part to our game though. When you see competitions in the US the get drafted and then traded haha. I remember that one kid a few years ago he got drafted to his home state but then traded right away just after we saw how ecstatic he and his family were.

Yeah I have no doubt it happens a lot, I'm sure most clubs would ask prospective recruits where their preference to play would be... but at least those kids are smart enough to keep it to themselves, and professional enough to accept where they are drafted.

This idiot is mouthing off all over the radio and then goes on to say... “I don’t think it would be in their best interests as a footy club to have me there because I wouldn’t be 100 per cent with it if I was going over there and couldn’t really commit myself 100 per cent as opposed to staying here where I’d be 100 per cent ready to go and fully committed.”

So he's not going to commit and give it 100% if he gets drafted interstate, But will if he gets to stay home with Mommy.

That's flat out Draft Tampering in my eyes... Actively telling clubs not to draft him just doesn't sit well with me.

Imagine if a WA or SA kid like Logan McDonald or Riley Thilthorpe did that... There would be a massive uproar and the AFL would quickly usher in new rules.

Didn't Chad Wingard do exactly this to ensure he would get drafted by Port Adelaide and stay home rather than go to GWS? Hardly just a Victorian thing.

Possibly Wingard did, not really sure on him. Bailey Smith is the most recent example I know of that refused to play interstate. Worpol the same if I recall correctly. Cotchin another example who refused to play interstate as well in the past.

The only example of a WA kid refusing to play interstate that I can recall is former Docker Luke Webster.

I'm sure there might be the odd case of a WA or SA kid refusing to play for any interstate team... But I think it's extremely rare. As players from these states know there are only 2 teams in their home states... They know they likely have to move elsewhere to play AFL, most are just grateful for the opportunity to play AFL footy. The VIC Country players are usually quite good too... But the VIC Metro kids seem to have a lot of issues.

I know it doesn't sit well with the recruiters though that kids like Perkins are pulling these stunts. Some really insightful articles in the West Australian these last few weeks from West Coast recruiter Brad Smith on the subject of drafting and recruiting.
