How can they drag it out this long? Ridiculous. Teams that have passed multiple times still take another 30 seconds to decide to pass again. 4 hours to make 60 selections.
Sadly it will be back to a 6 hour 1st round on the 1st day next year and then the rest will be done in 2 hours the next day.

Happy we got Grainger-Barras
Was a bit flat myself that we passed on Hollands. But no complaints with DGB, he'll be fantastic for us.
Cal Twomey was saying on air yesterday that last week he surveyed 13 clubs (presumably those outside of the top 5 selections) as who they would take at Pick 1 (other than JUH), and he said 3-4 of them said DGB.

Hats off to Collingwood tonight, after the disastrous trade period they had, they've had a really really good draft tonight, not only bringing in three blokes that wouldn't have been argued too much against being in the top 10 frame, but have set themselves up nicely already for Nick Daicos next year.

That was very drawn out. No way that should take 4 hours.

Reasonably happy with who the Hawks got in the end: the best rated defender in Grainger-Barrass, another Mitchell (anyone called Mitchell seems to end up as a Hawk), Downie who can play a variety of roles, and Brockman who as a small forward fills an area the Hawks are a bit lacking in. Still a few areas in the team that need improvement, but it looks like a good start to the rebuild.

Will be interesting to see if we go with anyone in the PS or Rookie Drafts tomorrow, wouldn't mind us going a Jackson Callow or Kaine Baldwin. But suspect we may just sit on things as they are and wait until the supplementary period or the mid season draft next year. Another young ruck wouldn't be out of place as a stash either I guess, maybe Max Heath.

With next years draft a strong crop of MIDs up the pointy end, you'd think we likely look to add one of them next year after going DGB as a key defensive post this year.

Not too familiar with who is still available, but I think I remember seeing Sam Walsh's brother is in the draft as a ruck. Maybe pick him up and see if he can convince Sam to switch clubs to play with him at the Hawks in a few years time.

Collingwood hired Sam Power for the night with their all that money they saved in a fire sale. After the first pick tonight he had 4 hours to wait so made some money. GUN FOR HIRE.
