BRODIE Kemp's rotten injury luck has continued with the Carlton youngster set to undergo ankle surgery.

The 19-year-old rolled his ankle in a marking contest during Friday's training session, with subsequent scans confirming a syndesmosis injury to his left ankle.

Surgery was deemed the best course of rehabilitation and Kemp will now be sidelined for at least the next 12 weeks.

Has anyone got any solid news on where Heppell is at? You read so much contradicting news about him
No news but if you have him in at the moment you simply need a plan B if he does not play. Eg upgrade mid pricer to a premium. Personally I think he is doubtful. He is racing the clock to be ready and they would not be silly enough to play him if he is not 100% with a full season in front of him.

Seems to have joined the main group and completed 1st session. Looks to still ice it post sessions. Fair to say maybe it has not 100% recovered, some risk of rein jury which could come during season is real. Manikato plan B may need a C too.

whats your thoughts on Sidebottom vs Dunkley. Dunks hard to pin down where he plays. Last year forward he had some good scores and also some 80-90's, thinking he was thrown around a bit. Sidebottom benefits from no Treloar. He is 30, although, not the bump and crash type player.
Dunkley every day of the week as the contested midfielder beats the outside midfielder on most occassions.

Have mentioned numerous times already in this thread that I think Sidebottom is better suited as an upgrade target and can be eventually selected for low 500,000 to mid to high 400,000 before the byes.

S Sidebottom (When backing up a 105+ avg):
2012: 106.2 from 21
2013:
1611602782569.png Drops to low $500,000 around RD9.

2014: 113.2 from 19
2015:
1611602930809.png
Drops to low 500,000/high 400,000 again after 8 matches

2016: 106.2 from 20
2017:
1611602983682.png Drops to mid 400 range after 8 matches.

S Sidebottom:
Since his 1st season of averaging 100+ (2012)
0-79: 32/172
0-99: 76/172
100+: 96/172
120+: 42/172
140+: 11/172

2020: 2/9 140+ or 22.22%
RD22 2015- RD22 2019: 2/87 140+ or 2.3%
RD5 2016- RD22 2019: 0/82 140+ or 0%

A "poor" season in 2020 by the lofty standards set by Dunkley in 2019, still resulted in a 104 avg. No matter his position/role, he still should feature amongst the highest tacklers in he AFL, helping to increase his floor and most of the current arguments against him have been baseless.

J Dunkley:
Post Bye 2018-RD23 2019: 114.84 from 32 ( 3/32 below 80, 11/32 below 100, 11/32 120+)
Post Bye 2018-RD18 2020: 112.14 from 43 (4/43 below 80, 17/43 below 100, 14/43 120+)

Yes ...still looking for the one more break out in DEF.

Here is one from outside left field beyond the bleachers.......

DEF. James Harmes
Would a 95+ return be good enough for D6.

Played different roles for the club last year.? With the Demons back line looking more settled would this see JH return to midfield rotation.?

Wil be one of a few on preseason watch.

What about the fact that Dunks has played one full season in five?

2016: 13 games
2017: 7 games
2018: 19 games
2019: 22 games
2020: 11 games

Finally a valid argument against him other than uh-oh Mr Magnets is coach.

Grade 2 Syndesmosis:

2018: Cannot currently find a source but I think he missed 3 games between RD10 to RD13 due to being omitted and upon return had a role change.

Can manage injury impacted players, you don't start them or trade when it happens. No control over the whims of a whimsical coach - role changes are a big risk to week on week scoring.

Am I mad for considering Langford? $454k was nearly most-improved at Bombers in the high half-forward role... Obviously a key player for the Bombers future, but his decision-making up the field is horrendous, so not sure he can make a big go of it as a "big" MID; couple that with our forward-line being borderline the worst in the league he may need to spend more time forward?!
Unsure if I'm making a case for or against here!? haha

Hello

I have gone the 'El Cheapo' high risk forward line, I have opted to forgo the backup Ruck

What are people thoughts on the setup overall?
View attachment 25366
Pretty similar to the set up I have currently (Marshall though instead of Dusty), incl 4 down back and gawn/grundy. I don't have Daniher, Hutchings instead.

allows me a Neale Olivier Cripps Walsh Rowell and Taranto midfield.

will see how cheaper players pan out. Lost some confidence in Heppell sustainability for now and could afford Taranto, although, whilst many believe in him, I am less certain. Changes may see a Taranto down and a Rowell/Walsh/Cripps up to a Gaff if someone catches my eye in preseason games, incl Heppell.
