Have been Reading the lions among every other teams training reports and Neale has been managed all pre season

Do a bit of digging on big footy from watchers and it checks out. Not sure why but hasn’t taken part in any match sim yet and has been on light duties for weeks
No mention of injury so was going to keep it quiet for everyone else to figure out but cause this community is amazing I thought I’d flag it. It’s probably nothing of note but just something I’ve picked up
Many thanks for the heads up. I have been playing around with teams and so far Neale has not left my team. Will have to wait a month for the preseason games to have a look.

I really want to put Noah Anderson into my side. His difficult price and being a mid makes it difficult to justify...but he should have a really good year.
Had him in my list of players at the end of 2020
Was hoping he’d get fwd/mid dpp. Unfortunately he played too much in the guts in the second half of the year
Would’ve been the lock of all locks. Can see him upping what Bailey smith did for us last year and going 100+

LDU is priced $432,800, do you see him as a Keeper or a Cash Cow? I can't decide, so I'm leaving him out f my team.
I’ve flirted with him but if you’re picking him at that price I think you’d have to pick him as a keeper. Is he capable of that 105+ average for a M8? Perhaps. Is he more likely to get there than a Rowell, Cerra or Taranto for example? Probably not.

I can see him averaging about 100. With a lot of mids being overpriced it is almost worth it!

Big bodied mid that has the pace to break clear of the stoppage, reminds me alot of Petracca last year wouldn't be surprised to see 110+, can't be picking someone at that price to make money for mine so if you don't see them as a keeper it's a pass.

How ready Phillips and Powell are may have an impact, only so much contested ball to go around.

Just a reminder that there were only 15 mids total who went 110+ last year, in a year where averages were generally considered higher than usual due to shorter quarters. There were just 9 that managed 110+ in 2019.

I think quite a few people are overestimating what players will score this year, not just yourself. I would be very surprised if he went 110+ personally.

Andrew Brayshaw is his increase due to shorter quarters?

I watched pretty much every Freo game last year as they are always on free to air in Perf. I don't have stats in front of me, but going off what I watched he made a clear move to the mids. I had him as one of my 2 break outs, pretty happy with that! However he was always that guy as the first out during the contest rather than under 3 others blokes, he reminds me more of a Mitchell/gaff than a pure inside mid (Happy to be corrected by freo supporters or actual stats).

I also noticed he spent large stints on the side rather than resting forward. You could read that 2 ways, on the downside his tank isn't large especially as we go to longer Qs again which may impact his score. On the upside, he is being groomed as a pure mid and the future of freo with Cerra and serong amongst others, and isn't a bloke who will get rested forward. Hard to believe, but Fyfe is 30 this year so the batton is being passed on. Personally I'm avoiding Fyfe for this reason.

Based on the way brayshaw plays i see him more in the 95-105 range so avoiding. Also avoiding Fyfe due to injury potential even tho he's my favorite non eagles player from a footy perspective.

Not sure i actually answered your original Q with that response lol :unsure::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I started Brayshaw last season based on what I saw in the preseason. All the boxes were ticked. Then he put up a 70 in Rd 1 and I lost my nerve and restructured. Probably didn’t help that there was such a delay between Rd 1 and 2 and the luxury of the five trades going into Rd2 made the restructuring easier but it was still a dumb knee-jerk move that cost me a fair bit.

Considering starting Rowell / Walsh as my M4/5. I think Rowell is capable of anything. A goal kicking midfielder who I can even see averaging 115. He simply dominated before getting injured. Haven’t seen a player make that sort of impression in his first 4 games probably ever ...
Walsh is an interesting one. He is primed to play more inside then wing this season according to the club. Cripps is slightly cheaper but I worry about him spending to much time forward. Walsh averaged 101 last season and could easily take that to 110. After Rowell, probably the second most impressive first draft pick (based on early in his career) we have seen. Even the likes of Buddy didn’t show much the first two seasons. His 3rd year he started to come good. 4th year he exploded. Granted a different position.

Can't say I love him as a pick. He's a butcher, so always going to be starting from firmly behind the 8 ball.

Last year was a full year of NicNat in absolutely optimal circumstances, with basically no Yeo, sadly looking possible again :(, limited Shuey, limited Redden and no Hutchings. Basically he was their #1 midfielder and produced a 96, finished the last 6 at 96, last 9 at 90, his best season was a 103. He's just gone through the 3 year window that is generally the prime scoring period for gun mids.

It's always possible but I honestly struggle find a compelling narrative for why he'd improve? Is he going to learn to kick? Even then, is he going to get considerably more ball? Best case I can come up with is Yeo, Shuey and Hutchings at full strength, Hutchings doing the team things, the midfield dominating for more ball but that's already looking unlikely (Hutch and Yeo injuries still going) and really if I believed that, why not just take Yeo or Shuey who are cheaper and more proven, and realistically if that happens he goes more outside to a peripheral role.

I might be missing something on him but I can't even really construct the 110+ narrative on him and that's his minimum acceptable score at that price.

Your thoughts on starting Gaff at M4. Can he maintain 108+ for the year and end up at M8.

A couple combined into one:

1. Mitchell: Anyone prepared to look past the shoulder and just start him?
2. M. Crouch: Anyone starting him? Seems to have pretty good arguments for sustaining output
3. Macrae: Can he still be viable despite Dogs' mid plethora given he should stay very high TOG and be mid/wing mostly?
4. Josh Kelly: Pristine preseason, correct?
Mitchell and Crouch are locked in at M1 and 2 for me, provided they both get up for round 1. Not worried about the interrupted preseasons.
Think Macrae is will be hurt by playing on the wing more, guessing around 112-115ppg which is still great.
Josh Kelly is my fallback in case Titch or Crouch don't get up.

Essentially still a rookie. Longer Quarters and will definitely get more attention this year. The kids a super star in the making. But I will suggest he may be rested at certain times during the year. The Sun's need to protect their investment.

100+ average over a season takes a lot.

Extra 30k gets you cripps.

Liking Mitchell at M3. May start slow but confident he is top 8 by year's end.

If Cripps doesn’t play to much forward. Walsh will clearly play more inside. The club has already said this as did he. It’s a gamble of course. He has only played a few games. But cookie cutter rarely works. A few risks are ok. Then the real key, trading strategy.

Pretty safe bet. Longer quarters help him. He's actually the guy I think people sleep on, wouldn't take much for him to jump to 115, super durable (1 game missed since 2012, 5 from clocking Brayshaw). He's that safe as houses M8 type who certainly could jump to and M4 level without much.

Liking Mitchell at M3. May start slow but confident he is top 8 by year's end.
By this logic, does he not make far more sense as an upgrade target? You're basically saying you'll ride the bad part and then have no advantage when everyone gets him cheaper.
