In what order would you rank these guys:
Danger, Oliver, Steele, Macrae?
I'm going to factor in positional value...
1. Danger - Has the most upside and as a forward could be 15 points clear of the next best.
2. Macrae - New rules, proven scoring, proven durability.
3. Steele/Oliver - Much of a muchness, Oliver more proven but has the injury concern (a couple) over the preseason. I can't say I love the rules for either of them.
Thanks for that Wogi. Another one for you - I had put a line through N Cox but I see you seem to still rate him. Are you planning on selecting him or would you advise to go up to say a H Young for an extra $100k?
Will depend greatly on my overall structures, whether Clark is even picked and if Duncan is playing if he is. I'm still happy to have Cox on field personally though but I'll be attempting to have as few defender rookies as possible so if I think there is another option on field for cheaper I'd save the money.
Lloyd vs Danger
Who is the must have in their respective lines, assuming you can only select one of them?
Danger is arguably underpriced, Lloyd is probably overpriced. Both had issues in preseason but Danger played and Lloyd didn't. Rule changes probably help Lloyd more but Danger has become pretty good at leadup touches on the outside also.
I think Danger slightly but it really depends on structure. Danger as your only forward premium to me isn't as important as Lloyd if you've got 5 premiums and think he remains in his own tier because otherwise you're locking in your one and only upgrade and having no flexibility towards any other guys who break clear.
What order do we see Hunter/Flynn/Meek in ?
1. Flynn - Clear for me, if he's picked round 1 he's their #1 with only bad play forcing him out. Briggs was very good on the weekend so if he isn't picked it says it all.
The other two depend but...
2. Hunter - Marshall should be out a few weeks and it's very common to have setbacks with his injury type, Ryder article makes it sound like a month. He looekd solid and McKernan is really a backup ruck so he'd be #1.
3. Meek - Looked like possibly the best player of the 3 but Darcy is a legitimate threat, if picked alongside each other it's probably going to be a 50/50 share, if only Meek picked and Darcy is fit, solid sign, but if he's not fit then it could be a one and done pick. I think Meek takes the spot though if he gets the chance but right now he's got the worst JS of the group and probably the worst scoring potential if that JS firms of playing alongside Darcy. As I said though, he impressed me the most of the 3 but all 3 were good. Meek is the one I'd like Sydney to try and trade for first in the o***eason
