I think I even saw Dusty attend a ruck contest in the forward pocket. Didn't jump like that though!
The Dusty one was a terrible non-call by the umpire, impeded the opposition ruck and wasn't the nominated ruck. Jack was the ruck on that one.

Richmond star Jack Riewoldt burned by innocent umpire ‘disrespect’

Jack Riewoldt had to eat a hilarious moment of innocent “disrespect” by an umpire in a heated start to Richmond’s battle with St Kilda on Thursday night.

Riewoldt was overlooked by the umpire before a ball-up deep in Richmond’s forward fifty - and it had hilarious consequences.

The star forward was Richmond’s nominated ruckman for the contest, but the sight of him preparing to take the ball-up was questioned by the on-field umpire who remained unsure if Riewoldt was the right man for the job despite Riewoldt making his involvement clear.

The umpire’s accidental questioning of Riewoldt’s prospects as a ruckman was followed by another accidental slap to Riewoldt’s face when the whistle-blower couldn’t remember Riewoldt’s name and instead referred to him as “Richmond”.

After the ball-up and an eventual behind, the umpire approached Riewoldt late in the first quarter to explain his mistake.

“Sorry Jack,” he said.

“Sorry mate, I didn’t see you there.”

The innocent moment left Channel 7 commentators Luke Darcy and Jobe Watson giggling.

Darcy said: “Jack’s just saying, ‘Why do I have to tell you I’m going for it?’

“I think he felt a lot of disrespect there Jack. ‘What, do you think I can’t take the ruck?’.”

Watson said: “I think he identified him as Richmond. I think Jack felt a little embarrassed, ‘He didn’t know who I was’.”

Riewoldt responded quickly in the second quarter by kicking his first goal of the game as the Tigers marched to a 54-29 lead at half time.

Too busy talking crap with Jack to make the easy call against Dusty for blocking in the ruck... this is why the umpires talking with the players should be dialed back significantly, if you're gonna talk then at least do your job right.

Could be in the rookie thread, could be in the ruck thread, could be in def or fwd as well given his position...

Since Draper went down Nik Cox has put up two 90s as a ruck. He's raw as anything but if he keeps up that kind of scoring is he worth asking the question about?

How has he looked in the matches?

He’s looked really good. Not sure he’s a worthwhile SC option now at his price.

$250k and DPP? He's only gone up $75k on his starting price and an average of 80 still sees another $150k profit.
I don't think the ship has sailed quite yet - its leaving the harbour for sure but not over the horizon :p!

He reads the game really well, and can play anywhere. Looks like he's enjoying being used in a couple of roles. We have this aversion to bringing in rookies after their first price rise - and I'm the same - but he could be one that still makes a chunk of money with very good scoring upside.

I'm dually conflicted bringing in rookies that have risen, and that are Essendon players.

Edit: Just another thought, @Leroy is that Reid is coming in this week. I'd suggest this means less ruck time for 2MP - allowing him to remain forward, but just a consideration with Cox as well.

Sinclair & Phillips make things interesting

Spend up for Gawn & Grundy and be stuck with 45-60 ppg rookies onfield or spread the wealth and aim for 100 ppg players instead.
