Gone off the cash grab Stringer trade. So it's back to,

Daniel to Ridley, Campbell to Waterman.
or
Daniel to Jiath, Campbell to Heppell.

The second option saves me from playing Jordon on the field which is appealing.
Think CJ is a keeper Pete?

Daniher or Scott to Waterman? Or not trade to Waterman at all. 26 trades left, league focus. FOMO on Waterman, surely Daniher can make more money. Scott hasnt scored over 65 yet this season and will probably go out once Crozier is in...

Really unsure what to do with trades this round.
Initially i was only planning the one trade of either Campbell or Jordon to Waterman and bank the cash for next week to bring in a premo def or mid.

Now with the news of Meek dropped and possibly Flynn not coming back in & obtaining the $$$ from the 1st trade, is Meek to Hickey a smart or reasonable trade? It would allow me to get to Grundy or Nic Nat for example in the near future as i went with Gawn, Flynn & Meek as my rucks.

Currently sitting at 193 overall so it's a pretty important decision. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Think Hickey makes a lot of sense, assuming you can't afford Grundy straight up.

With GWS and GC the next two, Hickey should make 75k over the next couple and has been playing very well. Normally that wouldn't be worth a trade but if he's also avoiding donuts then that changes the dynamic rapidly. Most likely he has to go by the Grundy and Gawn matchups though so it's buying you 3 weeks.

Of course he's still Hickey so god only knows!
Congrats on the rank with rookie R2 strategy!

If Flynn plays the next three at his current average would you be happy to have his points wasted at R3?

I suspect having him on field as a low cost high point scoring rookie has served you very well to date and you’d be giving up this advantage over the Grawndy crowd.

Treacy for Meek buys yourself another week to access what GWS plan to do with Mummy (just don’t expect much on field point from him). Marshall should back next week which is then a cover option for Flynn if Mummy is going to hang about.

Not sure Hickey represents a guaranteed upgrade for onfield points on Flynn if both are playing.

Tough choices being at the pointy end of rankings. :)
Like your Hickey option considering the recent team developments and should be the safer move (donut avoidance) going forward.

An alternative could be
Out: L Meek and K Briggs
In: J Treacy and A Waterman
Treacy is fielded at R2 this round (assuming he retains his spot)

Next round
Out: J Clark and E Gulden
In: L Jones and B Grundy (via fwd mid premium and Treacy)
Meek to sweet to avoid the doughnut?
Lucky I reversed my trades. Escaped a donut via my Grundy/Flynn/Meek setup.

Hasn’t quite panned out as expected for me in the ruck, I’m usually a set and forget kind of player, but was being tight not wanting to fork out for big Gawny and took the Draper!

Only one way to roll, FORWARD.

OUT: Meek/Campbell
IN: Hickey/Waterman

Was anticipating perhaps bringing in Macrae early from the Pies or a tasty priced Heppell from the Dons, but beggars can’t be choosers!

Let’s go SUPERCOACHERS!!!!
You still have Clark in mids who can swing back with Sharp to cover for Daniel this week who won’t lose money if not playing.

Put Berry/Jordon on field in mids.

I’d stick with the Dow out for Bergman/Waterman plan as you may need to go premo ruck next week if Flynn doesn’t return.
Appreciate that mate. Would going Meek to Hickey this week be a good option? and then upgrade him at the byes
Don’t mind that at all. At least you got Grundy in so enjoy that tonight and hope he has a big second half for you.
Out: L Meek and P Dow
In: T Hickey and M Bergman/A Waterman

Move Sharp to the midfield and Clark to the backline. Run Hickey/Flynn for a couple more rounds before upgrading to Gawn. Clark can move back to the midfield next round to allow you to grab Jones at D7.
Perfect! Thank you both very much
Appreciate the commentary. In the same boat. Bought Hickey. Here goes nothing!

More chance he plays than doesn't given McDonald's injury I would think.
I traded Campbell BE 71 out, because if he has a low score, he will drop in price, while L.Young's BE is 21, so he won't lose money, even if he doesn't play.

Heeney to Impey locked in.

One of the ugliest trades I’ve done but tried to keep an open mind to the decision to be made this round (without focusing too much on what could have been).

If it makes you feel better... I realised I'm 6 trades in already, haven't made an upgrade and have no cash to show for it. I think it's safe to say I'm having a good season

Have used 3 trades for the year. Have not pulled the trigger on any yet for this week. Twisted myself into a pretzel with so many issues to try and sort out.

DEF: May and Clark on field, holding Daniel on bench. Also have Ridley
MID: LDU on field and will hold him and take Scott's 61
RUCK: Hickey and Meek on field with Flynn R3

I think I am down to 2 options:

May and Clark out for CJ and Chapman- Leaves 140K for upgrade next week
or
May and Meek for Chapman and Darcy - Leaves nothing for next week

Either way I get a donut (unless Clark is sub and scored something). If it is clear early tomorrow that Hickey will be out for a week or so I may go with Darcy in

It's always nice to know there is someone out there copping it even worse :(

For mine CJ has a much better chance of being a keeper than Darcy which makes that pathway the obvious move. Especially given the ass just fell out of the back premiums this week!

Treacy next week looks to be in play for Meek but may as well take a weeks extra info and from the look of the injury I'd say you're trading Hickey next week so going to be burning trades in the rucks anyway.

Ended up going: Butters/Stef to ROB/Heppell.

Other combos I was considering were: Grundy/Waterman and Hickey/Zorko so kinda got a bit of mercy there as both ruckmen looked like they were on track to score much more.

EDIT: oh wow Hickey injured!

Big decision today, take 0 for Clark or use some of bank to trade in CJ or Sholl whom are probably the only options.

Unfortunately, I ditched Daniher a week too early, lol for Bergman last night.

One trade down this week and 25 left ($206,500 ITB)

Laird, Stewart, Short Duggan, Clark, Chapman (Sharp, Highmore)
Macrae, Dunkley, Merrett, Jelly, Taranto , Gulden, Campbell, Powell (Jordan, Berry, Scott)
Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)
Martin, Walker, Ziebell, Impey, Warner , Bergman (Rowe, Fullarton)

Currently 1,416 14+C (Macrae)

Laird, Chapman, Powell, Gawn, Walker, Ziebell, Impey + 0 (Clark) to go.

Thoughts on trading Clark (to avoid 0) to CJ or Sholl which will leave 100k ITB

Or hold 25 trades and bank and take 0 for Clark.

Holding this week would make getting Oliver/Neale more likely next week.

Thoughts?

J Kelly to Oliver and Kozi to Waterman.
Had Jelly to Ridley pencilled in all week, need to see how Oliver goes today but hopefully he scores well. Waterman on field is a downer tho
