Has everyone traded out sharp? Kind of forgot about him doing nothing in my team.
Seems like I am the outlier who traded him. Went for Jordon.

Think if you are going to trade cheap rookies, best time is early in the season with higher quality rookies around. Often some will capitulate at the bye period, however, the quality of income players are low and play just 2-3 games.

Looking to fix up my ruck problem, currently have Gawn, Flynn and Meek.
Thinking of trading out Meek for a bubble boy ruck thats averaging 130, Mummy (420k), the next time he's named to play.
Will give me a permanent floating doughnut, Mummy or Flynn.
Haven't seen anyone else thinking along these lines, so am l the smartest or dumbest kid in the class?
Feedback appreciated.
Cheers for all tne feedback and constructive criticism guys.
Nothing like being dragged back to reality, lol.
After all the advice final ruck combo and trades for the week will be Meek to Grundy , Daniel to Jones, 125k in the bank

If your team is in a position to do that, I don't hate it. But for most, would say Kosi can stay for now, with a 62 in his cycle he can start to make money (I am assuming he holds his spot over Lewis)

I don't think Jones is a must, just a good downgrade option this week for someone like Clark.

My team has no shortage of players to trade out:
Clark 294000 - The main one I think for me, assuming he's not back. With Ridley/Houston/Highmore/Clark/Kosi, I'll likely need to trade in defence to avoid donuts, Clark > Jones is a very easy trade to enable my 2nd trade of the week.
Phillips 388800 - Probably the other who I urgently need to trade, especially with a 55 in his rotation now. Easily my worst starting pick (ok maybe Neale who I got rid of after Round 2)

Campbell 244000 - Probably hold for me, I like that he plays early again so I can likely loop him in case he goes 80+ which seems unlikely.
Kelly 539600 - Another issue for me... New role looks here to stay. I'd say my defence + Phillips are more pressing issues.
Flynn 227500 - Please be back Flynny! Sweet 73 covered last week but not expecting Sweet to hold his spot.
Houston 514800 - Is now listed as a test.... I'll take a few weeks of 80 scores to be honest so I can focus elsewhere.
Atkins 383100 - Least of my issues, but after a 57, one to monitor for next week. He's not a keeper and I have M/F players in my mids such as Dunkley, so he's likely out next week with a sub 85.

On a personal note, my targets are:
Jones 139800 DEF - Obvious rookie trade in target this week, especially with my issues in defence.
Lloyd 596400 DEF / Ryan 543000 DEF - Actually looks like my structure won't allow me to get either, unless Houston was suddenly ruled out for a lengthy time. Ryan is going to benefit with Logue in the team, and they have North this week. Definite trade in candidate!
Neale 580200 MID / Brayshaw 482700 MID / Oliver 591600 MID / Walsh 568500 MID - For me, I'll be getting one of these four and it looks like my current trades of Clark > Jones, Phillips > ??? leave me $500 short of Neale (and 12K short of Olvier)

Brayshaw intrigues me, and I would like to save the money there, but like many I think I'm just going to grab Walsh who I am pretty comfortable on as a player. (y)
Yeah it's an interesting one, I just don't have much faith in Koschitzke as a young key forward and he has recently been dropped (I can see it happening again this week as well). I can see him scraping to 200k, whereas Jones probably gets to 300k. Is a trade worth it for 120k? 20k from the trade and an extra 100k when you trade Jones? I'm leaning towards thinking it is. Takes me down to 23 trades with another 8 players to upgrade, have a lot of the big players in my side already so I can turn my attention to getting some of the few discounted players over the following few weeks - guys like Titch, Lloyd, Danger, Brayshaw, Sidebottom etc

Neale is definitely worth grabbing this week or next so I'd plan accordingly. I'm swapping Tex to him without any hesitation.

Looking at a couple of downgrades in both L.Jones and Highmore (should he also be named). Quite annoying that both are in doubt for different reasons and won't be named until Saturday night, especially as I have to pull the trigger on one of them earlier that day via Sharp DPP. Both Berry and Brockman are on the chopping block to make way.

Dusty is also frustrating the bejesus out of me and will probably be available around $450K shortly for non owners. But I've decided to hold him despite a number of tantalising fallen mids available this week in Neale and Brayshaw, along with Walsh who I don't have.

might just go Hickey - > McCreery

let my rookies keep mooing for a few more weeks , hopefully the ordinary ones (Berry , Campbell , McNeil actually get a spike score to get their growth going again) and Highmore returns

plenty of fallen premiums in the next few rounds , just need to be patient and get the right ones.

I’m considering McCreery but perhaps Bergman is the better option albeit with one price rise.

Just think Bergman can be more relied upon on field.
I am doing this.
Have decided that he is a better chance of scoring and the fact that Port seem to keep giving him the opportunity whenever someone else misses through injury or whatever is a good sign that even if he is dropped he will be back again. After taking Waterman I really don't want anymore rookies who are reliant upon goals to post a plus 50 score.

Probably time to get Walsh, still a good price and flying.
I really don't know what happened. I had him in every version of my team from pre-Christmas until about a week before round 1 when i converted to the horror show that turned out to be the rookie-ruck-debacle.

Great value for money but I am targeting the fallens, Neale, Oliver and Mitchell over the next 2-3 weeks.

Id pick him before Neale and Mitchell, Got to get Oliver though.

I think most of the damage is done, it was known he and Grundy had great early draws. Think I will be targeting around the byes now.
Indeed Gawn's first 6 weeks and the ruck opponents he was facing was the main reason I started him in all formats despite his huge price tag and the various "value options" on offer. After Round 1 I was definitely second guessing this approach wondering just how much the new rules were impacting on dominant ruck scoring.

However this strategy has pretty much paid off now after locking in two 160+ captain scores from him over the first 5 rounds, alongside a whopping 140pt average.

In fact he's now actually $200 more than his starting price so those hoping to get him significantly cheaper may have to wait some time to come. A couple more monstrous games over the next month and even the $800K barrier is not out of reach.

Double downgrade for me. Berry and Brockman out for Jones, was going to go mcreery, but I will go a week early on Macrae. Has DPP and will be on a bench anyway.
Main reason I want to go a week early on macrae is I'm potentially going a double downgrade again next week with atu at North looking good and I thought Farrar played really well for gold coast.
You just have to grab rookies as a priority when they present as tempting as it is to bring in that extra premo

Why the conviction to trade Tex? don't get me wrong, also considering, trying to work out if we got lucky and he is a top 6 forward if he scores 95-100 from here.

The concern for me is he was injured last week, still played, looked ok 1H on 60 then injured during the game. Could miss this week, or worse still plays and not fully recovered. Does he injure it again given again is more the concern.

The logic behind trading him now is that he is pretty much maxed out cash wise and has probably had his big scores already. While his season average will almost certainly be top 6, will he average more than 80-85 from here? If you think yes he will do at least that, then keep him and only trade if injured. Otherwise take the $191k and run.

Josh Kelly - those that own him what are your plans.

He can't hold a premium mid spot in that role IMO, score on the weekend benefited from scaling otherwise looked like a sub 90 score when I checked. Not sure I can stomach holding him longer if given a chance to move to Oliver/Fyfe.

Trade out favourite besides Clark seems to be Campbell - anyone thinking Berry would be a better option? Worth less but also seems less likely to get a spike score to restart cash gen.
I'm trying to decide between berry and Campbell as well - Campbell the more "unachievable" BE on paper but he does have gold coast this week

Wasted too many trades already, have to hold and hope something changes :cautious:
