Yeah could to

Ryan to Lloyd and deal with Walker next week as he will not lose any cash, or couple Ryan to Lloyd with Walker to Poulter to build some bank, but would miss RCD and would have to start Poulter/Rowe this week.
I think RCD is a decent downgrade but I don't think he is 100% must have. The priority has to be covering the donut and this Ryan injury just sounds strange, he was a test originally and it's just blown out for a few weeks now. Ideally you really wouldn't want to be sideways premos at this stage but I think to cover the donut and with no decent backline rookies to come in you probably have to.

If looking for a potential bargain D6, I think Darcy Moore (365K) is a much better chance than Harmes.

Moore started the season with scores of 118 and 119 in defence and scored 130 when moved back to defence last week after the failed experiment of him playing forward for a few weeks. Bucks said in a presser they are going to keep him in defence from now on, he is an elite intercept defender/ one of the best in the league so I can't see him being moved especially with Jeremy Howe out for the season also.
I have a bit of a dilemma with those 2.

I want to get a cheap D6 for Chapman which will get Kozi off the field

If I go with Moore then I'll have to lose Warner.

If I go with Harmes then I have to lose Berry.

Moore had 19 marks last game and whilst that's not sustainable he should still get a good amount plus intercepts (not sure if he takes many kickins) so maybe a 90-95 ave is what I'd be happy with.

Harmes also scored a 130 on the back of 31 possessions, 7 tackles and 19 CP's playing as an inside mid, those numbers might also not be sustainable but with Viney out (not sure how long) his role looks very good and IF he keeps the role then he could ave. a bit more than 90-95.

I reckon both are worth a punt and for me the rookie that I field does have a bearing on who I bring in.

Highmore being back this week is just massive for most of us - the added bonus is he is playing Fri pm so those that have Kosi with Murphy or Jones on their back bench can use either of those 2 to loop

For mine, this is the ideal opportunity to double down with Poulter & RCD - I think they will be the best rookie options we will have for a few weeks so a great time to get cashed up leading into the bye rounds.

Would be good if O'Connor could get a run of games

Steele is still a good mid but I don't think he's the star he was last year with less stoppages and longer quarters. I wouldn't overpay for him.
Been hurt a fair bit by them trying to fit Jones, Ross, Crouch and Bytel into the midfield, it's funny how coaches will sacrifice their best guys to try and placate their 2nd and 3rd tier guys.

Also been hurt by having no ruckman, last year he had the best ruck combination in the game with Marshall a dominant 2nd ruck and Ryder probably only behind NicNat as a pure tap ruckman.

Jones out for an extended period, Hill having gone to defense and the rucks back are all good signs for him long term. Also worth noting that he's now at pretty fair price, next week barring a monster he's priced at ~108 which I'd say he's a good shot at beating from here and a very good shot of at least matching.

I'd say right now that you've got Gaff, Mitchell, Jelly, Petracca, Parish, Parker, Brayshaw, Boak, Keays and O'Meara who are cheaper than that price at this point that can probably have a "reasonable" case made that they can score 108 and I think that list goes down to about 3 or 4 guys who can have a case for 115+ and I'd say Steele's got a better case than any, with the whole having done it and durability and just about doing it anyway while we say he's been well down.

Reckon I’ll go against my own rules and dump Highmore this week. Defence looking a nightmare through the byes and will hold Jones over him.

Highmore & Gulden - Poulter & Ridley looks pretty likely. Allows me to avoid a donut this week and still leaves 130k in the bank for upgrades. Means I miss a base price RCD though but it is what it is.
Just thought I'd check in from a few weeks ago when you were looking to trade Highmore, good to see you used your trade elsewhere as he finally returns!

Agreed!
When Murphy went down it was like here we go again, just need to plug another hole in the backline.
Just need Sharp to get named now!

Anyone trading Highmore in?!
Didn't start him but am considering it as there aren't a lot of rookie defenders coming out it feels. That said, I'm trying to rate rookies I bring in now for their JS more so than their scoring potential as a good chunk of the ones I bring in will be in my team for the rest of the season so I'd much prefer strong JS over scoring (for the most part).

My SC backline looks terrible with Chapman/Murphy/Kosi/Butts (who has come good in sc at least). Actually handy Tex has got rested as I could easily use a couple of trades down back.

I could double down... or I could ditch that plan now that Highmore's back for at least one week and get another upgrade in. Does Hawkins have another hot streak in him?

Tempting, but sticking to my planned trades, L Young and Walker to Poulter and Oliver and that leaves $200K in the bank.
I've got Kotschitzke, Mansell and Frederick fighting for D6 already. Mansell and Frederick still have money to make and I considered to trade Kotschitzke to Highmore, but Kotchitzke plays NTH this round, so he has a chance to score well in D6.

Hi all. I'm really confused as to what are the best or good trades to make this round.
Above is my team, pre trades, it's been a complete shambles this last month, mainly due to my defence, have just copped it every week on that line.

I've been wanting to get Oliver for so long (missed trading Dunkley to him last week but luckily Titch was available and grabbed him for Dunks), but my defence just keeps copping injuries, etc. and i've had to delay, will be getting him next week, probably Powell or Jordon to Oliver.

This week: Would D.Robertson & Rowe for RCD & Poulter be the go? Maybe 1 up and 1 down? ie, RCD or Poulter and L.Ryan sideways to Lloyd?; or Powell to Oliver this week?; seems a waste to sideways Ryan to Lloyd but who knows how long Ryan will be out?

I've been copping donuts galour in defence this last month, everything has backfired. Pure chance of luck this week that both Highmore & Briggs are selected, which might avoid a donut if Mansell isn't dropped; to be honest i dont mind eating 1 more donut in defence, only missing Mansell's rookie onfield score, getting used to it now.

Sorry for this long, dis-jointed post. Appreciate any opinions or advice. Thanks in advance.

Hey - just looking at your team but considering the limited cash generation I would look at cashing in Rowe (for Poulter) & Brockman/Dev for RCD. You can still loop one of your defenders (Highmore) with Murphy out

You could also use Briggs DPP swap/trade out Rowe and get yourself a premium DEF for <$570k (you have mentioned it’s the line that’s killing you) & get Poulter/RCD with your second trade ($510k cap will have whatever you end up selling added onto it)

Warner/Campbell to Poulter/Cameron gives me this lineup, $111k and 16 trades, which I think I'd like to sit on for a couple of weeks. rd9.JPG

Sucks about Bolton but I think I'm going to hold... in before it turns into a six week injury!

Fair chance that I will, as will open up the double down for me. Allows me another week to look at Ridley and decide where I want to go to finish my defence

Cox>Highmore
Gulden>Poulter

Didn't really like the RCD or Byrne options. Obviously Highmore has dubious job security, but he's projected to add 60K this week, and seems to have good scoring potential (given he's been racking up numbers in the VFL). I never had him, so it's only a single trade on him. If he can play until the bye round it is 100% perfect for me.
