THIS weekend's match between the Geelong and the Western Bulldogs could be in doubt with an emerging COVID-19 situation at Whitten Oval.

Womens.afl previously reported skipper Ellie Blackburn had been ruled out due to the AFL's health and safety protocol, and that the Dogs also have extensive injury concerns.

The AFL has not yet made any decisions on any possible postponement or cancellation of the match, and is monitoring the situation as it evolves.

AFLW GAMES AND COVID SAFETY All you need to know

It could be the first time the AFL's rescheduling policy is used.

If a club is unable to field 16 primary-listed players (and five top-ups), a game will be postponed to either later in the round, later in the season or at a very last resort, cancelled completely.

The AFL has previously publicly committed to completing the 2022 NAB AFLW season and awarding a premier.

Round two also marks Geelong's first home game for 2022, with the club to hold their season launch directly prior to the match.

Can I please add bomberboy - ChampagneBowers to the list?

I checked with a fanatical Freo supporting mate with a strong fantasy AFLW footy background on a range of Dockers (including Tighe)

******

“I would say McMahon is a Trent Cooper favourite and will play. She gives the forwards a bit of toughness with O'Sullivan playing more in the middle.

Runnells looks like a winger and could rack up good possessions.

East is a mini Turbo (Bowers) but will take time especially possession numbers.

And still waiting for Franklin who will play in the next week or so too”

*****

In summary based on what we know now that any of those 3 would be fine as your M7, where you are hoping to make cash via a 30-35 plus average and hopefully be unlikely to be needed onfield anytime soon unless via a utility call up. I also think Charlotte Thomas could still be a reasonable alternative capable of 40ppg.

I suspect that with Kiely’s current ownership being 28% and McMahon’s 7.0% either one or zero will be brought into teams but not both as trades will be needed elsewhere. If you pick McMahon she should be a reasonable POD unless everyone trades her in solely off her breakeven.
Love the sound of that. I think McMahon definitely is a goer - I'll have 22k in the bank after these trades too, which I'm happy with. Watching Harris and Wuetschner closely this weekend as they may need to be upgraded to other midprice options.

Teams have to have 14 of their 30 player squad OUT before it gets postponed - pretty unlikely.
Given the Dogs have lost Huntington for 2022 they should have to elevate a non injured train on to maintain their 30 players.

With Blackburn also out they would most likely need to have another 6 or so players enter the HSP test prior to the game to fall below the threshold above.

Hopefully we know what is going on by Friday afternoon at the latest.

Looking at the following set of trades to give me the following team for R2 (I'm aware that Snell is a WBD).
Essentially, swapping a DEF premium to a potential MID breakout premium.

Thankfully, I started Ferguson and Freo Runnalls so missing Freo McMahon is not too detrimental.
Birch & Lampard seems to be the Dees main outlets out of their backline; loved what I saw from Tarni on Friday night, absolute tackling beast; Snell was the best I could afford from what seems to be a bad bunch.
Thoughts...?

@THCLT some amazing work with all the stats!!! Loving it!

Been absent as I have started a new job this week! :D Pity I couldn't have blamed that on the bad start. I had the past couple of weeks off, so had plenty of time to get a good team... Just didn't.

Luckily I currently only have 3 Cats and no dogs - but still an unknown if the game goes ahead and what happens if it doesn't. I'd say for simplicity's sake MM would just go the averages. A big call for a brand new site to readjust their fixturing.

Will now start looking into my trades...

For the other comp (ShePlays) - that started OK. Wasn't too impressed with my score, but ended up 5th for the round. (Sounds good but only about 100 people entered - that's what happens when they don't promote and open it up about 24 hours before lockout). And well done to @Tamuhawk and @BreakfortheBorder being 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Fantastic summary, thanks as always! If my team is able to be added to the 'league' I'd be grateful... team name is Garner Win It. Cheers
