Ok no Sherar then. Broken hand (2 Weeks)
GENERAL MANAGER of Women's Football Brett Munro provided an update on the Game Changers' injury list heading into Round 5 of the 2022 AFLW season.
Grace Egan (ribs)
Blues fans will be pleased to hear that Grace Egan is back into training after she sustained two broken ribs and a punctured lung in a heavy collision back in the Game Changers’ Round 1 clash with the Pies.
“Grace is going really well – she was introduced back into training this week, did some running drills and did some football drills,” Munro said
The injury saw Egan’s run of consecutive games since her debut come to an end, but the young midfielder is on track for a return in the next fortnight.
“She’ll do a bit more throughout the week and we’re hopeful that in the next one to two weeks she’ll be up in line for assessment for selection.”
Gab Pound, Jess Good and Imogen Milford (AFL Health and Safety Protocols)
After being ruled out of the previous two games via the AFL Health and Safety Protocols, Gab Pound, Jess Good and Imogen Milford will all be available for the Blues’ clash with the Crows.
“They’re back into training and they’ll all be up for selection this week.”
Keeley Sherar (hand)
Keeley Sherar put together a performance worthy of a NAB AFLW Rising Star nomination in Round 4 – an effort made all the more impressive by the fact that she did it with a broken hand.
“We found out at half time that she’d copped a knock to that hand in the first quarter and it was really brave of her to continue on.”
Sherar underwent surgery this week and if all tracks well, will be back available for selection in two weeks time.
Mimi Hill (ACL)
In more positive news, young Blue Mimi Hill is tracking well in her rehabilitation from an ACL injury which cut her debut season short back in March 2021.
“She’s had an outstanding rehab, her work rate and her application to that has been fantastic.
“She’s been in our program, full training for the last three weeks and depending on this week, she’ll be up for selection – VFLW and AFLW both play this week so we’re hoping to see Mimi Hill running around in the Navy Blue.”
