I normally have trouble finding 30 players I like and and end up with someone I'm not happy with (Tom Phillips) but I genuinely have over 40 at the moment that all look like good picks. Even the mid pricers and expensive rookies, who would normally be last minute saviours any other year, look like decent picks.
I'm finding the DPP changes adding to the frustration because I can see discounted mids who will end up on another line but there is no way I can justify using a mid spot to start them so will have to pay full price during the year instead.
Definitely finding this. Defenders aside where I'd like to be rookie heavy but don't think I can, there are so many premium mids I love and so many forward options. I wish I could just pick two forward lines instead of a backline

Definitely feeling like a year where I'm not picking anyone I don't want. Hardest part is definitely the structure right now, I don't want too many forwards because the DPP changes will hit there the most, and yet I want all the forwards, mids I need the rookies but want the premiums.

Will probably be the rookie defender I choose to take over a mid/forward that ends up being the regret or player I don't want, on a positive at least I'll get my donut to cost myself points every week out of it!

Honestly I genuinely think we may be able to go rookie heavy down back. D7/D8 Kemp & SDK are looking reasonably solid there (not sure I'd want to start them on field) Dean seems to be in with the injuries at Collingwood, so now we only really need two of Hinge, Sinn, O'Driscoll & Chesser to start. Can stick Coleman up Fwd to help with some flexibility and things are looking pretty good. Much better than these fwd rookies it must be said, but still early days.

Think I'm content to go weaker in other lines, points difference will be minimal compared to uber mids that can smash out 130's on the regular.
For me this is largely based around my rucks. The uber premium mids are significantly more money than the premium forward/defender linear, it's not one premium FWD/DEF out premium mid in, it's that plus a bit more which hinders my structure elsewhere. But with a Gawn/Darcy out its pretty much like for like and that's where the compromise is for me. The added risk with the rucks also presents another risk.

I have decided I want to start J Berry, so will need to fade one of JHF or N Daicos. Please help me make up my mind or talk me out of it lol

I think Berry over JFH is a rational choice (conceivably, depending on how he looks next preseason game with hopefully a more realistic midfield to compete for time with), but having him at m6 makes me think you should be looking elsewhere for your sacrificial lamb.

Kemp and SDK look like 40-45 point players. Gibcus similar - note, I dont think they scored this much in the games this week either.
Chesser likely doesn't play
Think Hinge, O'D, Sinn and Dean look a good chance - need them all to play although O'D may go mids.

Not many 123k players standing out for a bench currently. Holland hopefully gets back.

Wasn't sure where to post this. Interesting interview with the guy who finished top 10 in SC back to back.

It's pretty good. I tend to agree with a lot of what he says for sure.

The Curnow part makes a lot of sense and I do tend to agree albeit Curnow also is falling into that maximum hurt category if you don't take him and he does go hard. Realistically though he's a very comparable pick to Daniher in that if he stays fit, he's going to score and he does have an ability to put up big scores to make cash quick but he also may not be that important a pick!

I'd seen a couple of your posts and thought "geez NT may be going a bit MP here, not like him." haha.
Yeah, I'd lost a bit of sight from my usual starting teams where I spend money on those uber premiums that I know will be top of their lines. It just sort of morphed and it's so hard to balance. I sort of get caught up in finding 14 keepers rather than 12 ubers. Those 14 keepers usually become keepers out of necessity rather than best of their lines.

Although my forward line is a struggle and just looking at some value with Heeney, Thomas and Butters

That's what all the preseason drafts are for (and AFL Fantasy!). Post up all the guys you really want to pick but ultimately wont, get them out of your system, have proof about how you were right even when you don't pick them and then when you've sowed all your wild oats, pick the right guys for the final cut and put a ring on it
