How anyone can watch that footage, and claim contact was only to the chest/shoulder is beyond me.
Rowell is visibly dazed, and if the footage continued, you could see he was still dazed 60-90 seconds after the contact.
Watching the game, he was still visibly affected, trying to gather himself, for the next few minutes.
You don't get dazed by a bump to the shoulder!!!!!
If he was a "lesser" player, and they carted him off, the outcome would have been different. But because he toughed it out a "No harm, no foul" rule seems to have been applied.

Any WC supporter claiming the right decision has been made, or feeling vindicated in their stance on this, I look forward to you cheerfully patting the MRO/Tribunal on the back, with a "Well done, you got another one right" anytime a WC player is suspended.

It was a line ball decision, The Eagles and Rioli's point of view which I put forward... was that he jumped to take a mark, made the split decision to brace himself and made contact with mainly Rowell's chest. Here is Rioli's own words... "As soon as I left the ground I started turning my body as soon as I knew I was going to make contact I turned my body to make the contact less."

Rowell himself after the game was fine with the bump... "Fair play, it was a good hit," Rowell said.

The GCS doctor's did not think Rowell required a concussion test as clearly the head was not hit. We know the doctor's are very cautious with these type of things so they would have re-watched the footage on the bench and made the assessment he was not concussed and did not even require a test.

From the tribunal hearing... "In the aftermath of the collision, Rowell was gasping for breath, suggesting he was winded. He didn't grab his head. Umpire did not award a free kick". It's likely Rowell was just winded and that's what you saw.

Rioli is not a malicious player, if you knew him and his character you would know this. He had the opportunity to completely flatten him but he didn't and isn't that type of player.

The tribunal chose to believe that version of events, and they had a hell of a lot more detail than you or I do.

Rioli should consider himself lucky for sure, and be more careful in the future. But I do believe he genuinely started out going to mark the ball.

And look at that mate... Not only did the 3 field umpires not think it was a free kick But the AFL Tribunal agreed that it wasn't worthy of a suspension.

Guess I was right hey?

Or are you smarter than all the experts and everyone else?
Seriously???!!!
Every single "expert" I have seen or heard comment on it, have said "He has to go".
It seems only you, and the AFL Tribunal think otherwise.

Seeing as you have made such a strong statement, I challenge you to name 3 experts, outside of yourself and the Tribunal, that saw it this way.

Yeah I'm not hanging around - if he plays Round 2 and struggles, I will trade him without hesitation next week.
He was the guy I never really wanted but fitted perfectly into my tight budgeted structure.
At the nearest sign of a problem I will load Whitfield into a cannon and blast his nondurable butt out of my team!

Irrespective of the decision, anyone claiming to understand any part of an MRO or tribunal process/outcome is either majorly smart or majorly crazy. The only consistent part is the inconsistency and the logic often tracks at toddler level common sense.

Glad no one was hurt (this time) but hope we don’t need a serious injury for the AFL to say “oh yeah that’s not good”.

Hey Mitch Robinson's ban was upheld, that's some sort of consistency.
