I've read some very smart people, who have been amazed at the consistency of Benfords Law. It surprises me they are amazed. Firstly, it is common sense. Secondly a simple test shows you it should work. On nearly any random set of numbers/results you choose!
Tax departments around the world use it as an early test, to help identify people fudging their numbers!
Until you apply it to a data set of stoic mid price madnesser's starting SC teams ;)

Hey Everyone - hope all SCSers are well and looking forward to the 2023 season - I have had a full on AFL detox so i have literally no idea what is going on haha.

Tom Mitchell plays for Collingwood now and Dunkley plays for Brisbane......random!

Oh i know one thing as I watched him in the SANFL last year.....Luke Pedlar is a gun and I love watching that kid play. Super injury prone and probably rots at half fwd but I think he is a lock for the R1 team if he gets through the pre season

I've had a bit of a detox as well and couldn't believe Lachie Hunter wasn't at the dogs!

Thanks @Connoisseur @Ironhawk and to the guys that have joined so far.
I hadn’t entered the darts thread before the World Champs, but have been a watcher of that event over the years. Just hoping to provide an entry into what is a great sport, the players look like they live a life of beer and pies (other than Price), and they probably do, but they are that talented and it’s a great sport to watch.
Love to see a few more entries because I genuinely think this will be an underrated comp over the course of the year.
Second season starts tomorrow morning with entries closing tonight for anyone wishing to participate. All 10 participants have returned from the inaugural season and once again @The Banker has kindly offered prizes of entry to the $100, $50 and $25 SCS cash leagues for the coaches who finish the season in the top 3.

For those interested or wishing to read more about it, please find the information in the following thread:

A 50m penalty will no longer be paid if a player fakes a handball while behind the mark, drawing their opponent off their position.

It's one of three tweaks to rule interpretations that have been made ahead of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, with the League aiming to simplify the game for officiating, minimising delays and reducing player exploitation of rules.

INS AND OUTS Every club's full list changes ahead of 2023

The modification expected to have the greatest impact on games is around drawing a 50m penalty with a fake handball, a move used by players last season, when they would goad their opponent into moving off the mark before play on was called.

In the video below, Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko gives away a 50m penalty after moving off the mark as St Kilda forward Jack Higgins shaped to handball. This will no longer result in a 50m penalty.

Additionally, players have to make an immediate decision regarding the 5m protected area. When a player is penalised for giving away a free kick or loses a marking contest, they must stand the mark or immediately leave the protected area.

In the video below, Collingwood star Darcy Moore is not in the contest but opts to enter the protected area. He must stand the mark. The example below would now result in a 50m penalty as he has left the area after initially deciding to enter.

The third change will see players no longer given an alert by umpires at the 15-second mark of their set shot, instead receiving just a warning at 25 seconds. Players are allowed 30 seconds to start their set-shot approach.
