Put Merrett down for a 115+ this year. 25 now about to break out in to that 115+ group IMO

Truck seemed to like him in the guts in the second half of the year. He's on my list for consideration.

I'm not 100% sure on Merrett being able to maintain a 115 average. The Bombers midfield in 2020 wasn't great and with Heppell back and Caldwell arriving, either they obtain more points as a unit, or averages slip a little as the ball is shared round more.

I don't mind the Harry McKay pick. The big driver for key forwards having a break out is often linked to success of the team. If you think Carlton will move up the ladder, his SC average should move up with it. Developed well across the last 7 games of 2020 as Carlton won 3 games and was more competitive in losses.

(Disclaimer, I haven't taken part in a keeper league before so hopefully I'm not completely wrong on the above.)

2019: 123.8(12) average before the bye and 118.2(10) after it (helped out by 190 in the last round).

2020: 140(13) average before the bye and 115(4) after it.

Scary thought not starting him and probably have been getting bang for ur buck in starting him.

Shaun McKernan the GOAT? He is a must have at that price if that's the case.

Great table. A lot of forwards on that list. They really got shafted with the shortened quarters.

On average, the top MIDS scored 5% more in 2020 compared to 2019, so the MIDS on the list above are perhaps even better value than they look.

I think GFB nailed it. They take turns getting good scores so there is no perma tag on any one player.

Bontempelli,Cripps,Oliver,JKelly and Merrett are out of contract after this season. Wonder if any will beast the year to get a bigger contract or struggle with it on their mind.

Shuey would be the main one that has been tagged the last few years, last year Kelly did especially when Shuey was out. Gaff at times gets tagged also. Shuey & Kelly would be the main 2 though.

Good question. Bont seems to be a big game player, and Cripps was carrying Carlton for some time before 2020, so I doubt either would be negatively impacted by it. I’m not sure either seem selfish enough for it to help them, but I could be wrong.

Yeh probably weigh on those who are actually thinking about leaving their clubs. The two Captains are probably safest to back in.

Anyone else considering Sam Walsh?

He started the year playing mainly on the wing but moved into the guts in the 2nd half of the season. He then averaged 114 points in the final 11 games of the season. Not likely to get tagged with Cripps & Williams there.
