Yeh probably weigh on those who are actually thinking about leaving their clubs. The two Captains are probably safest to back in.
That’s a good point as well. From memory we had the “will he, won’t he” all year on Kelly last time, which I suspect was his driven by his manager trying to maximize value. If that is the case, you’d expect they will probably use a similar tactic this time.

Anyone else considering Sam Walsh?

He started the year playing mainly on the wing but moved into the guts in the 2nd half of the season. He then averaged 114 points in the final 11 games of the season. Not likely to get tagged with Cripps & Williams there.
Walsh seems almost certain to average a minimum of 110 this season. Yes, Zac Williams arrives but surely that impacts a number of other players at Carlton before it impacts Walsh.

115 is probably the max I could see him averaging in 2021. He will be 21 years old and the best of the current midfielder averages at 21 were Oliver (115), Rockliff (114) and Merrett (112).

His been in and out of my team. I would take him before Cripps

I think the differences are basically Cripps, Titch and Sloane v Lloyd, Gawn, Rookie. You get an extra premium (if Sloane is a premium) in option 1.
With Titch’s delayed start, when you put it like this, I’d have to say option 2. Two absolutely top shelf guns vs anywhere from 0-2 in my view.

Just checking Brisbane/ Lachie Neale's draw to start the season :-

Lions play Sydney round 1:
Neale's average v Sydney - 80. Last 4 scores :- 55 (I recall Clarke putting a hard tag on him), 108, 110 + 44.

Geelong at GMHBA (difficult ground for opposition teams with its different shape) round 2:
Neale's average v Geelong - 95. Last 4 scores :- 134, 103, 132 + 94 (he had some poor scores early in career v cats which explains the low overall average). Average from 4 games played he has played at GMHBA is 100.

& Collingwood round 3:
Neale's average v Collingwood - 88. Last 4 scores :- 113, 91,140 + 104.

Bit concerning given his starting price is 721K, plays 3 of his lowest scoring opposition teams to start the season. Sure the stats can be misleading, he is a different player now than a few years ago but still not great past history there.

With the stats @Connoisseur provided on Gawn with his past history v his starting teams, if you can only fit 1 x 700K player in your team to start then I think Gawn looks a safer bet.

Not sure this got mentioned earlier today but Yeo won't be ready to go for the start of the season.

“I don’t think we can put a round on it (for Yeo’s return date) but he’ll be right when he’s right.

Had some decent potential as he averaged 90 last season (more like 85 in 2019 numbers), following seasons of 102, 108, 108
