After last night's display, if Neale has a full preseason then he gets added to the midfield.

At the moment I'm looking at Macrae, Steele, Walsh and Neale. That's 4 of the 5 Mid premium spots.

Just one more to go. A month ago I would have added the Bont. But he does seem to drop away at some point most years.

Rucks are going to be a massive debate again. Gawn/Grundy/Darcy all in the mix. Will this be the year to drop off the Gawndy partnership?

Forwards will probably be the hardest starting line up to decide on, almost need to hope we get another gift like Ziebell again.

Bont finished with a bang 2020, have seen some portraying he falls away.

2020 he was tagged in the early games except where Swans tagged Macrae.

2021 difference was it appeared his clanger rate went substantially higher later in the year. The Adelaide and Port games were the only late season games where his possession fell away.

Thinking Macrae Oliver Steele Mitchell and Neale. Will need a Sicily and maybe a Marshall in the ruck to afford 12 players. 4 mids in 2021 incl Taranto was lower than normal due to Lloyd and Neale pricing points plus rucks.

100% rucks will be the hardest spots.

Fwds - is Mitch Duncan going to be forward, saw some suggesting. Think Ziebell Impey and Daniher were gifts we will not easily see again. No doubt we get more $200k traps like Dow as we try to replicate 2021 and fail.

Yep some good points!

Reading your post I realised I completely forgot about Oliver! He is pretty much a lock for me as well.

Yep Neale, Macrae, Walsh, Steele and Oliver all likely starters for me. Miller the other one I would like to start but can’t fit them all in. A cheap M Crouch likely to feature too. Cheap ruck/fwds in the ruck and some cheap Fwds might assist with a star studded mid lineup from the start.

I'll bring up the topic of the much talked about Grundy, Gawn, Darcy

Do we think Darcy can put together a full season for the first time next year and will he be the same Darcy from 2021??

Will Gawns ruck/forward time change or be managed more or less?

Will Grundy be moved to a different position under new coaching to make room for Lynch to grow, as the Herald Sun states or will thr new coach decide to work along the saying "if it ain't broke, dont fix it? "

How will these all affect each others scores?
Maybe a Gawn and Mcinerney or Nic Nat ?

It is tempting, as someone who finished the season with both Big O and Gawn it was very interesting
Only worry with Big O is, is he up to the same standard as the others or is this just a big second half of the season?

Can completely forget about Kelly, zero chance to get FWD eligibility. Taranto we might get lucky with, depending on his splits this weekend (and any other finals).
They don't take the scores from finals into the avgs, so I don't think they take the account for the positional changes in finals either... Is it January yet?

Taranto's borderline 2022 MID/FWD status was fun while it lasted (all of one week).
No chance of staying the MID/FWD side of the percentages if this first term is anything to go by for the rest of todays game.
Well holding MID/FWD after the weekend per this mornings AFL Player Ratings update. Must seriously be by the skin of his teeth.

Interestingly, between last week and this week, Shai Bolton has had his position updated from MID to MID/FWD without playing. So not sure if that’s just been an oversight in terms of compiling their summaries for twitter (which we’ve seen has happened in the past, or if they’ve be completing reviews and making adjustments already on the eliminated teams.

Treloar, Coniglio and Taranto as mid/fwds would all be very tempting.

Butters, De Goey and Thomas the other likely mid/fwds which have been mentioned regularly.
A very long season which has attributed to SuperCoach fatigue and is quite startling that Taranto has been touted as an enticing selections on numerous occasions, if he receives dual position status.

At the predicted price range, his lack of hitting close to his ceiling on a regular basis and very low floor, coupled with his poor disposal efficiency/decision making, it provides little upside as a starting selection as he can be selected later in the season once he dips to the low or mid $400,000 range. The forward line is the best place to take risks on breakouts or to enter sans premium, rather than overpaying on players due to scarcity.
