Jack Steele, injury last year and some average games gets him at a juicy price for this year. At 28 can he make the jump back to the 110+ avg an become keeper level.?

Im Looking at who will be the final 8 in the Midfeild for the year. i have listed my starting seections (DRAFT) for the 2024 season.

I am also considering Simpkin or M. Crouch at M6 as a starting selection and a quick flip in round 6-7 for one of the players on the list who gets off to a slow start.

Who has everyone got for there final 8 from the list.
1.Brayshaw
2.Butters
3.Liard
4.Steele
5.Walsh
6. Crouch/ Simpkin
Millar
Bont
Tracca
Oliver
Neale
Dunkley
Rozee
Gulden
Green
Merritt
Parish
Dawson

At this point my guess for top 8 highest averaging mids would be:
Bont
Oliver (assuming he's good to go for round 1)
Butters
Dunkley
LDU
Green
Petracca
Dawson

With several more I can see either being in the lower end of the top 8 or close enough that you'd be happy owning them (Merrett, Laird, Brayshaw, Serong, Walsh, Miller, Gulden)

Thought I should have a look at what my top averaging players are for every line. Feel like there’s so many good MIDs to pick from this year. Forwards are slim pickings, desperate for some DPP’s to come through.

DEF:
Daicos
Sicily
Stewart
Sheezel
Young (if he gets MID time)
Sinclair
Fringe: Ryan, Houston, Lloyd, Ridley, Whitfield, NWM.
MID:
Bont
Oliver
Petracca
Laird
Merrett
Butters
LDU
Green
Fringe: Libba, Dawson, Brayshaw, Serong, Dunkley, Gulden, Neale, Miller, Walsh, Rozee.
RUCK:
English
Gawn
Fringe: Marshall, Grundy, Darcy, Witts, Briggs.
FWD:
Macrae
Flanders
Bolton
Moore
Daniel
D.Martin
Fringe: Curnow, Greene, Heeney, Jackson, Fisher.

Does anyone have any information on Cooper Stephens (Pick 16 - 2019) by Geelong and picked up in the Rookie draft by Hawthorn?

Cooper Stephens Supercoach Statistics (footywire.com)
Is very far back now in the pecking order of Hawthorn mids with the emergence of Day and Nash as first choice, and the expected natural progression of our high draft pick investments in Ward and Mackenzie. I'd even say Macdonald is ahead of him and he'll struggle to get a look in the mids also.

Hi my son Blake has put the below team together and he would really like some constructive criticism and feedback , the low priced rookies will change during the preseason

I know everyone here will help him out.

It is pretty heavy on Rd 0 premos / midpricers:

Both RUCs
Walsh, Miller, Gulden (Jordan) in MIDs
N Daicos and Zilliams in DEF
Flanders and Tay Adams in FWDs

Will make it a little tricky to navigate the early rounds.
Most are looking to reduce their Rd 0 premos down where possible by swapping out like for like (Daicos > Sicliy, Miller > Steele, not starting Flanders etc.) just because the Rd 0 premos are certain to miss an extra game during the year.
But if that's not a worry for him, nothing wrong with it.
Walsh, Miller, Grundy, Gawn - they all represent great value propositions.
(Tay Adams, too, in theory.)

Won't need a floating donut at R3 given all the early bye rounds. Pencil in Sweet for now.

Also an argument for not removing all the value early bye players. But yes this team is too early bye heavy (EBH) at first look.
