Another change up to the squad with Flanders floundering the other night.

Happy enough with the backline. Short looks to have his old seagull role back. Obvious risk is Yeo but he's playing pure mid and opens a DPP link with Daicos in the midfield.

Bont hasn't left my midfield since I put my first team together, and Daicos enters for the first time. I can see an upside with every other player in the midfield although I do have a little FOMO with Hustwaite, but you can't have them all.

Fingers crossed that Grundy has the sole ruck role - I'll have to monitor that call.

Forward line is a total disaster area and I'll be looking out for Lazzaro today.

Love the set up mate, surprisingly my only concern is not the fact that Yeo, Fyfe or Crouch haven’t put a full season together since well….forever, it’s more the fact that Short’s best years in our favoured SC position for him haven’t seen him net over a 100avg yet, just feel $550k is a overspend when Kiddy may match him in that regard, both would need to go at at least 105 to be considered a keeper, not sure either will so might be worth saving 150k?

Torn on English vs Grundy. Obviously have to wait to see if Ladhams lines up for an informed decision. Problem is if I go to Grundy then there's a bit of cash to spread, and I don't even know who I'd delete to get that solid M5 or crouch or steele.

F1 is killing me, though I can still switch Lazzaro up into the fwds and get someone like crouch.

Grundy is still incredible value and he plays WC in the early rounds which looks to be monster scores for ruckmen.

Still yet to be determined really, he may be priced about right

Furthermore, Looking at rounds 1-4 when scoring counts :-

Pies - Cameron / Cox
Essendon - Draper
Richmond - Nankervis or Naismith
WCE - Williams

That looks a very nice ruck draw early on for Grundy to me 😉

Either English/Grundy for me. Not sure I want the headache that comes with Grundy, just hasn't seemed himself and I'm glad we get a look at him in a real game before we need to pull the trigger, feels a little surreal tbh.

Nice team @Creeker, I'm not a fan of Yeo, can see the appeal but not for me. Coleman I've mentioned previously has been in and out of my team and still unsure, probably like to see his first two games and if needed can jump on before any price rise. Don't think he'll put two big scores up that will see teams with him get away from us, especially as he's not a captain/VC option like a Daicos. Like Parish, he's currently in my squad, Crouch hard to go past.

No Williams - I can understand also.

Libba - hard to argue with. Pricey but you know what you're going to get I guess, kudos having a crack.

I think Greene will be up and down looking at his role and coupled with his bye early he's not one I'd consider but does have an easy draw and could kick a few bags.

This is where I'm sitting, not really comfortable with it. Coleman I don't think I'll run with as mentioned previously so I've got some work to do with structure, think it'll be around D4,5 & 6.

I've got money tied up in English/Grundy if things pan out for Grundy with Nic Martin, Holmes and Amon on the watch list. Would've been a no-brainer if they had Def status already. Crouch the other.

Steele I'll look at today, looking for a strong bench to generate cash and get some early trades going.

Pretty happy with this team at the moment. Wouldn't usually have this many mid-pricers but feel with the extra trades, lack of quality FWD premiums and number of value pics that this could be a good play. Still might try and fit Flanders in but might hold off on that with the early bye (already have a few with an early bye)

Thanks for coming up with that analysis @Shannon - I had just about decided to cut Grundy loose, but that draw is something I hadn't factored in.
If he looks reasonable in R0, I think its worth giving him a chance to prove whether he's back.
If not, there should be enough cash gen by then to upgrade him when he hits the R5 bye.

Curtin probably not going to play early, sounds like they’re going to ease him in. Would also have Sexton on field with his half back role. Looks a pretty good team though, I only count 10 ‘premiums’ (not including Xerri). Most are trying to fit in about 12 with more value players but think this is a year where it doesn’t really matter with a good crop of rookies.

I wouldn’t go near O’Brien, don’t get reeled in by pre season stuff against no ruck. It’d be better to pay up for an English/Marshall who are likely to be top 2 or free up some money with Grundy.
