too early to hop off mckercher if it allows me to go grundy d'ambrosio mckercher to gawn martin clohesy?

other option would be jhye clark grundy jackson for martin gawn comben

with gawn and martin's BE it could make up the difference for hopping off mckercher potentially?

traded out martin but is what it is

Thanks for clearing that up @freowho

Here's my team and possible trades, let me know your thoughts. Leaves 199K in the bank.

Would have loved to keep Grundy for a few more weeks after the bye but i'm forced to move him on i guess. Trading out Naismith because i can't see him being selected this week isn't worth a trade/upgrade imo.

I bit the bullet as I really wanted to bring Steele in and the best/worst option was to trade Naicos out. That’s enabled me to bring in both Sharp and Clohesy. I now have a very solid bank of rookie/newbies cash generators of which most I’ve had since R1 and R2 - H. Reid, S. Darcy, Sanders, Dempsey, J. Clark, McKercher, Windsor, Wehr. In R6, I want to bring in 1 more premo, which I’ll be able to do fairly easily. IMG_4264.jpeg

I don't think it makes sense to trade Daicos out after losing 100k, yes he has the bye but you're probably scrambling to get him back in straight after that. I think you've missed the boat on Sharp, could easily put up some underwhelming scores in the next few weeks and only makes another 80k. Steele has had a pretty soft run to start with and still not sure if he's a top 8 mid from here on out.

do most people think Horne Francis has turned the corner and will be a consistent 100 plus scorer now in his potential breakout 3rd year.. last year his scores were pretty underwhelming most of the time... I doubt wines back in will affect him too much as Wines in kind of is cancelled out by Boak taking a backseat now, the top 3 are pretty much set at port with Rozee and Butters.. I want to get him in to make some good cash and then if he starts regressing I can always trade him for a 550-600 k player whos bankable

he did have an injury marred preseason his first one with port and this one he smashed it going to USA with Boak and he feels its set himself up to run out the season well

Also would it be stupid to use a boost this round to secure Daicos even though he's not playing... I have 6,000 left spare if I do Bramble/Daicos now but if Bramble bombs and gets like a 50 or something (breakevens 71 I think) it will leave me short for Daicos next week who should thrive on the wide spaces of MCG vs port who he had one of his best individual games against last year.. I was probably going to use it next week anyway but doing it now secures me Daicos and don't have to worry about Bramble bombing.. I still have like 21 scoring players this week and only need 18 and no real duds (wilson stk, darcy wb) kind of my lowest ones

Bought in Steele at the moment, like every man and his dog, although I do like Zag Bags suggestion of Jezza Cameron. Something different than the crowd, few more cocktails will convince me. Only way to make up ground.

Honestly, I think these are good trades (if Darcy is back).

Take out the 130 when Grundy had a point to prove he's going at 95 and you just have to get Max.

Jackson has achieved what we wanted him to, 600k and a 120 average without Darcy. If Darcy is back then I think the trade has a lot of merit.
Thanks mate, exactly what i wanted to hear. 👍

No need to bring in Daicos this round with his bye. I think non owners can also watch him play Port Adelaide who are tough for mids and running backs.

Just referring to the bolded. He’s going at 94.25 if you use the rounds we’ve actually had him during SC. So a minor win if even a win at all.

Gawn on the other hand averaging nearly 150 over the 4 rounds he’s been available. Pretty crazy the difference between the two for what was only 100k.

I’m currently looking at a move to Marshall which will give me the English/Marshall combo. It’s either that or wait two rounds to get Gawn, but I don’t fancy the amount of points I’d potentially lose.
Cheers, I forgot about that round 0 stuff. Yes he has to be upgraded and maybe this is the round to do it, I was just baulking at the idea of swinging Jackson to R2.

personally going grundy to gawn this round even with his bye. have jackson to cover but also, if gawn goes 130+ against Bris which isnt unlikely with Bris' track record against rucks, he will be 700k+ which will be very difficult to upgrade to

considered going meeks but why not get gawn in to pair with english and then forget about rucks for the rest of the season (fingers crossed)

that was said about Nic martin too and he still racked it up vs Port.... nah it's more for the fact if Bramble goes well under his 71 breakeven I will be left an agonoziningly few k short for daicos .. if I do it now have it locked in with 6,000 left.. I don't envisage any other trades next week to help get the daicos cash across the line incase Bramble bombs as I am already picking up Clohesy this week and all my other guys like Wilson, Clark etc are still making cash so won't be trading them next week

I have no doubt that at some point he will breakout and become something like a Supercoach lock for many years and that if you get on early before price rises you will gain an advantage. He had a career best game against Essendon but up until that point had played in bursts, albeit quite high scoring ones. I do think that he did benefit from Wines being out as he got a greater share of CBAs alongside Rozee, Butters and Drew, and so Wines' return could limit his scoring (even though you could argue that Port's midfield was more dynamic without Wines). Absolutely love watching him play but a bit too risky for me at this point and at his price, especially when there are still proven scorers available at discounted prices.

I’d be wary of the opposition he’s played so far.
