Rashid, Boyce and now Manenti on the list.. going to be very interested in the round one line up but I'm going to start planning on Short alternatives. If they name 2 spinners in that round 1 team then Short could not get out of my team fast enough!

I’ve been debating Short v Boult for a while, can only fit one in so thinking Boult is better the play now

Quick question. Can you switch a DPP with another DPP even after one of the DPP has played? For example, I have Hardie (bat) as a donut for looping Rossouw and is able to be switched with Short (bowl) if I wanted to loop Shadab/Hosein/Mujeeb, can I switch hardie and short after Short plays or no? I haven't messed around with looping enough to know. Thanks for any clarification provided :)

No. Once a DPP has played, he is locked into that position for the round and cannot be moved from one position to the other.

Yeah you’re effectively buying Short as a batter or Boukt as a bowler. A domestic batter v an international star bowler, no brainer really
I dont think it really matters how credentialed a player is in the BBL, it's all about their role at the end of the day, fact of the matter is if Short didn't bowl last year his 68 average drops to mid 40's, you just arent ever going to pay 197K for that, should only be picking him if you think the Overs are going to still be there for mine.

Yeah definitely agree there. Either way Short/Boult is one and done to a Scorcher round 2. So really comes down to who you think will score more in round 1, and in turn not lose cash

Yeah if it looks like Short won't bowl 4, I don't think you can pay that price when relying predominantly on bat points.
I just dont think their attack is as weak as it was when they started using Short as a regular bowler, surely they are picking 4 or 5 of Khan,Siddle,Thornton,Conway,Boyce,Agar and Manenti at all times and still have De Grandhomme there as a bowling option batting 4 or 5, doesn't exactly scream Short bowling regularly to me.

Keep an eye out for these previews in the lead up to the season. Can be very valuable especially the coaches insights
This excerpt about Beau Webster has me very interested in him. Has been good with the bat in the bbl and this suggests he could move up the order. Interested to see how they adapt with no Maxwell regarding spin. Could see Hinchcliffe in the XI.

Exert from HoneyballBBL

Adam Zampa was unveiled as the Melbourne Stars captain in Glenn Maxwell’s injury enforced absence.

Zampa discussed who may take up Maxwell’s batting role, nominating cheapies Nick Larkin ($62k BAT) and Joe Burns ($62k BAT), and hinted at a role change of Marcus Stoinis ($83k BAT/BWL).

“We’ve got some guys who missed out on some opportunities last year, Larkin, Burns, who were both in and out,” Zampa said. “It’s going to be an opportunity for them, both experienced, to take over his run scoring role.”

On Stoinis, Zampa added: “It’ll be interesting to se what kind o role someone like Stoin plays this year. He’s opened the batting a lot for us. Not too sure what we’re looking to do with someone like him but we’ve got his firepower. We’ve got Hilts (Cartwright) as well, who’s been playing really well for us.”

so far, I have this lock in... still some work to do.

How's your side going?

Solid foundation mate. Atm my locks are Sams, Rashid, Hales, Siddle, Rossouw, Inglis, Stoinis, Zampa. Everything else still up in the air a bit. The keeper situation has me stumped. Thinking a Phillipe/Wade but then you sort of have to bench them round 2 to get Inglis on so almost like that have a bye in a way

Keeper one has me stumped as well most likely just have do Inglis & Gilkes and pass on Wade.

No point in having Wade as a bench pick R2 and then a bye R5.

Wade Will open the batting have gone cold on him moving down the order maybe I miss read the interview of punter naming him down the order to bat.

Yeah that’s a good point, essentially becomes 2 byes in the first 5 rounds for Wade so not ideal. I actually had a thought today of doing like a Lynn/Siddle to Billings round 2, get both Gilkes and Inglis on field for round 2 and also gets a Heat In ready for round 3

Thoughts on Shadab?
