Perhaps we go the same way as the AFL SC and create trade and individual round threads? Bbl has certainly become much more popular in terms of traffic to this site these days that it probably needs separate threads.
I think the LG had thought about this before (and we may have tried this in the past too). Given the short turnarounds between rounds (unlike AFL), I think it may be better to just keep it simple with the status quo of just the one BBL thread.

Test discussion unrelated to the BBL ideally goes in that other general cricket thread.

I actually think the quick turn around is why we might be best served splitting out game day chat from trade/other news chat. If you aren’t able to read the updates close to real time, important information can get buried by 5+ pages of in game chat.
The separate thread for squads and teams is handy, but so many important tweets around injury or player availability (or even weather) get lost in the noise otherwise.

I wonder if you could sacrifice Overton (bye next round, may miss R9, high BE) to allow you to exit players that are no longer there for any specific reason, and target those with upcoming doubles and low BEs?

Billings loops well with Philippe and Shaw as I understand it.
Trading Overton is an interesting call. Might only be playing a handful more games and it’s a lot of cash to carry over the bye. With Doggett and Thornton bowling so well it might throw a spanner in his bowling too?

Lots of people understandably going for Billings with the negative BE, but isn’t batting at #5 a concern?
A little, but there's a few things in his favour:
* He's genuinely one of the best finishers in the league. Has a tendency to really go on with his good knocks and make them big.
* Second string to the bow of keeping keeps him in the game with fielding points. Two good spinners opens up stumping opportunities as well as catches.
* Has played plenty of seasons over here to be accustomed to the conditions. Not nearly as risky as a first time import.
* As mentioned above, keeper options aren't exceptional this season, and the good ones are through the roof now in price.

I picked him up last round so part of this might be self justification, but I would expect him to be very popular.

If the game never starts, can we use those players as loops? If so, I will put Renshaw on field.

Of course, it has to be very ominous.
No, once the game has started, that is it, players will be locked, if it never starts and they get a DNP, then only your nominated EMG will cover them, if Renshaw is on-field he is on-field.

Yeah that’s a good option, although I feel like my Sixers dead wood could become good loops going forward, just not ideal for this round. Hard to let go of Overton, he’s only had one game below 60 and that’s when they had their complete batting collapse and he had nothing to bowl at.

Regarding Billings, I just struggle to get around a batsmen coming in at 5. As others have mentioned already, he’s probably the best WKP option at the moment, however I do currently have 3 WKP options so I can just loop them to help avoid a stinker.
