Loving Brett Lee in my side! He's had a great start to the BBL :)
Got Maddinson as VC. I brought in Kallis over Henriques, hasn't turned out well so far, but maybe later it'll work out better
Lee is on fire atm!!

Had Henriques as C so can't complain so far, hopefully goes big again.
Maddinson looks pretty good so far this tournament as well, Doherty went alright, Mennie unlucky thanks to Hales dropped catch, and the only real downer was that I traded in Jono Wells ahead of Hussey (who I'll grab next game week), however he should still be in line for a decent price rise.

Joe Burns to bat No.6 for Australia on Test debut, with Shane Watson retained at No.3 for Boxing Day at the MCG.
Champion quick Ryan Harris comes back in.

613 with Henriques (c), Bollinger, Maddison, Klinger, Behrendorff, Turner, Finch to go.

Considering what's to come would have to be disappointed with anything less than 900. Some people could conceivably get 1000.

You've got Rimmington listed twice there mate, and unfortunately for you he won't be scoring anything because he's out injured, has a toe injury which he sustained in the first game.

Pity Marsh did not go on with it after getting a start.
Hopefully in second innings he can do something to start to secure his spot.
Burns only made 13 but least he got a taste of it.
I got to admit I looked up the stats on cricinfo a few days ago and Phi Hughes was the only cricketer on any Shield State list this summer that had an average upwards of 50 in his career. We are really struggling for batting depth right now. Michael Clarke also below 50 which surprised me but I guess he was a guy that starting in Test side early and never played a lot of Shield cricket because of that. The selectors are left just having to try guys out and hope someone sticks. Doolan was given a little bit of a go. Mitch Marsh average is very ordinary but given a go and now Burns after some recent decent Shield form is the next guy. Someone like Shane Watson is safe making 50's when no batsman is bashing the door down to be breaking into the team. Mitch Marsh is his biggest threat as similar type of bowler. Watson bowling always been handy when he fit to do it but if Marsh gets the odd wicket and can average 40ish he will put more pressure on Watson. The problem for me is watching Shaun Marsh whom looks to have the good just not scoring the runs yet. Please do in second innings. We need you.

On a side note, I brought in a guy called M Harris from the Scorchers last week when I needed a cheap 0 in field last week so I could get Maddinsons score last week.

This week I left him on the bench this week to cover for White on the bye, before I decided if I needed to trade or not.

Could not have worked out much better, does anyone know much about him?

Yeah, young opener for WA, 30 first class matches already. Developing nicely.

There's going to be some huge scores this round. On 847 with 3 to come including captain.

5 wides in first over by Brett Lee.
He's finding it hard to control the swing of ball this first over.

11 ball over only cost him 7 runs. lol

Wow! Is that Kepler Wessels son ?
I remember Kepler Wessels making 162 on debut in his first test for Australia.
Surely this is his son.
Will be most interesting to see his batting stance.
Never seen a stranger stance than Kepler Wessels.
Yes I believe it is.

He has been replaced in the squad by Englishmen Riki Wessels, who is the son of former South African captain Kepler Wessels, who has been playing at Nottinghamshire after leaving Australia in his teens.
Wessels has played 118 T20 matches, where he has scored 2490 runs at an average of 28.29, strike rate of 137.19.
Sure is! Hardly heard anything about him because he moved to England when he was 18 and has played there ever since I'm pretty sure.
Re Riki Wessels possibly being Kepler Wessels son

Cool, look forward to getting a look at how he bats.
Maybe his father only Test player to debut for two Test nations.
Kepler Wessels debut for Australia in 1982 and I'm sure he then played in South Africa first Test match for two decades in 1991. He might have been captain or Clive Rice.

Was curious whom Wessels can play for if he ever gets international honours. Looks to have some talent.
Must admit I am a bit confused.
Clicked on wiki and still unsure after reading this.
Mattheus Hendrik Wessels, also known as Riki Wessels (born 12 November 1985, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian cricketer who has played for the cricket teams of Marylebone Cricket Club and Northamptonshire. He is a wicket keeper, although he has been playing as a specialist batsman since he joined Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. He is the son of former South African captain Kepler Wessels, who also played 24 Tests for Australia

Early life
Although Riki was born in Australia, he grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, due to his father playing for the South Africa cricket team, having previously played for Australia when South Africa were banned from Test Cricket. Being born into a cricketing family, his career path was obvious from the beginning and when he was 18 he made the decision to leave his family behind in pursuit of his own International cricket career in the UK.

Cricket career
In 2004, Riki joined the staff at Northamptonshire county cricket club where he impressed in the second eleven producing several noticeable scores. This led to him being selected for the MCC in 2004 and in the first team of Nottinghamshire for the start of the 2011 season. In this year, he established himself as a first class player, and scored his first century at the age of 19 against Somerset.[2] In 2007, he became qualified to play for England which is what he has wanted to do from an early age. Being a keen Hockey player (playing for Northampton Lions and the University of Northampton teams)[3] helps him to play a variety of shots including the Reverse sweep for which he is well known. He is a fairly attacking player especially in one day cricket, where he has one century to date. On 7 November, Wessels signed a new contract extension along with fellow Northamptonshire wicket keeper Niall O'Brien, keeping Riki at the club until 2010.[4]
He also turned out for Nondescripts Cricket Club in Sri Lanka during the English off Season between 2008 and 2010.
Riki signed for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club for the 2011 season, where he plies his trade as a specialist batsman.
So he was born in Australia, lived in South Africa been playing County cricket in England and I assume he is based there but now playing some T20 in the BigBash this summer.

I must admit I suspect he would play for England even if his Dad is South African.
KP was from South Africa origins but played for Poms and a few others like that too.
I'm tipping Wessels to play for England at some stage if he continues playing County cricket over there.
There is no sign of him playing first class cricket in South Africa or Australia so I think he will play for Poms.
The Wiki entry calls him an Australian cricketer though.
I doubt it.

Just an idea I thought I would share for others here that follow the cricket closely. When the World Cup tournament gets close to starting in mid Feb I intend to run a fantasy league of 6 teams that play each other once and then the top 4 of those teams play off in Semi-Finals at same time the last round of preliminary matches are being played in actual World Cup.

Then those two winners would play off in the Fantasy Grand Final during the actual World Cup Quarter Final stage.
The plan is to create the teams via auction style, which I never tried before but should be fun. Similar to auction style in IPL.
The 6 franchises in this can have up to 3 owners working together to create their list. We will need to create lists of 17 players each franchise and I will categorise players in the tournament to be batters, bowlers, wicketkeepers and allrounders. There will be some type of lower limit to each type you can have in squad and then each round of matches we will each pick a team of 11 that actually score.

I'll probably use the scoring system based on some already existing fantasy cricket game that is easy to access freely on web but the auction and category of player for this game will be customized to suit what I think will be more fun.
Looking at World Cup schedule it is clear to me there will be some overlapping of rounds. Meaning most of the time we will submit our teams for next round before the previous round is finalized. An example being New Zealand play their 3rd match of tournament on Feb 20th which is two days before India and South Africa play their 2nd match of tournament. Hence round two would be completed of fantasy league when India and South Africa are the final teams to complete their 2nd match. However we would have already submitted our round 3 line-ups on the day New Zealand play their 3rd match. As a result if you play you will need to keep well on track on what is going on so you do not miss team submission deadlines.

I mention the origins of this idea way back in September. I know Goodies and MovingUpward were guys already expressed keen interest in playing.
I will reveal more closer to the time but it's won't be based on Big Bash style fantasy game which I'm not even playing.
When the World Cup squads get finalized I'll start to work on a spreadsheet to categorize all the players.
Might even give aspects of it a test run during the tri-nations series of one dayers next month if I find time between FDL and Keeper league stuff that will be my number one priority then,
Anyway should I get if off the ground in full there would be room for up to 18 people to cover 6 franchises with the idea being those franchise duties shared around between 2 or 3 people and we would organize between ourselves whom to team up with once we get much closer to World Cup time.
