So which half do you take ....

- Started under done as we all all know
- Finished strongly but had a massive incentive to do so ...

So to me a hero or zero pick early on ...
Surely the upside is enormous

* full pre-season under his belt
* 12 months of understanding the system , knowing his team mates better
* last 10 games form
* under priced to what he could perform
* aside from Whitfield , Martin , Heeney who else is going to be a Top 10 forward for the season

worth the punt imo from the start

Got him on my shortlist don't worry ...

- Whitfield, Martin and Heeney also but not tied to any of them ... have a few others in mind ... too many teams looking the same and mine probably won't be one of them ...

Were plenty of other viable forward options last year .... Boak, Paddy, Walters, Worpel, Kelly, Lycett, Dunks, Caleb, Ziebel, Marshall etc ... as it ended up ...

I have gone back to Whitfield , Dusty , TJL , Smith.

Everytime I look at another Forward option (apart from Ablett & Ziebell) they all seem to have the Round 13 bye.

Probably seen about 10-12 forward rookies mentioned regularly here and elsewhere so until Round 1 teams just have to wait and see.

As it sits I won't be fielding any forward rookies and doubt that will change ...

Currently sitting on my bench .... as I don't trust him ...
Fair enough , I can't recall how many NEAFL games he played at the end of the season , hopefully he gets his body right , supposedly a unbelievable talent.

Which line (s) are you going thin in then if you are going 6 deep in the forwards ?

The same as every year .... just missing a M/F link at the moment to totally maximise my options to bring him on field if required ... so the answer is defence ...

Apart from Bonar , Flanders , Cockatoo , Cahill , Mahony & E Smith I haven't really seen any other F/M.

Hopefully their will be lots of viable rookies for Round 1 and not debuting in Round 2

True .. my current stumbling block .... been looking all over the place too ...

If all my selected players play in the M/F positions which I expect them too I don't need one ...

Just looking at contingency plans ... to get Rankine on field if I need too .., have built in scope for a Bonar, Flanders type player etc to make it happen if they are named ...

Only other one I could find was Budarick from the Gold Coast.

I am struggling with another onfield rookie behind Rowell & Pickett in the mids , lots of names being thrown around but who knows if they start Round 1 eg Bytel , McHenry , Simpson etc can't afford Anderson or Bonar really at this stage.

Currently have the Cocky in the mids with Kropenyeri-Pickett/Weightman pencilled in at F5 , Rankine F6 (Cameron if named , King)

If Brander plays that D/F link with Hill would be nice.

Too many days to go to think about it , cricket is almost over , start the footy now.

Going to sit on my side for now and monitor the JLT which I normaly take no notice of due to the recent formats ...

Will be watching the rookies and my short listed players of interest like a hawk with a highlighter out like @THCLT ...

SC side almost locked in so now got to work on the other two formats ...

Dylan Stephens at the Swans, I'd be awfully surprised to not see him playing for them round 1.

Have him on one of my watch lists , might just go 4 premiums + Rowell & Pickett & factor in a couple of the more expensive options like Stephens

seems to be a heap of forward rookies at the moment that could all be chances , 3 with F/M status so just a case of fitting the jigsaw puzzle all together.

I like Stephens but was never a huge ball winner at junior level if memory serves. Reminds me a lot of Florent who struggled to find the ball early days but has increased his disposal average considerably.

Fair way down the list for me in terms of higher priced rookies.
