That’s missing a heap of last years forwards like Dunkley, Danger, Daniel, Boak, Marshall, Kelly, Worpel off the top of my head though.
Still, maybe but again that’s his best season numbers in 9 years which still is the only real data we have, would be dangerous to take a run of 12 games from one season and expect that as his new norm.
Given your record , if you can work out who amongst this year's forward eligible players is going to replace those mentioned , you could well end up # 1 this year.

For Lynch to even be in this position is an achievement, given his at-times rocky start at Tigerland.

The star recruit came to the club on the back of a serious knee injury that required two surgeries last year, in July while at the Suns and again in November to tidy up scar tissue.

He had an extremely limited pre-season, failing to play a practice match and only training once a week for the first half of the season proper.

Lynch had patchy form early on as a consequence and was even labelled a "liability" by Essendon great Matthew Lloyd in May, but has steadily built to kick 61 goals, playing every game of the season.

"You'd be lying if you said you didn't hear it, the critics and that," Lynch said.

"But as I said a number of times, I spoke to 'Dimma' (coach Damien Hardwick) and 'Mini' (forwards coach Andrew McQualter) and the guys at the footy club whose opinions I really value, and they were really supportive.

"They said I was playing a role for the team and bringing others into it, that 'we're really happy with you, you can perform better, but we're really happy with how you're going,'."

The 26-year-old is in his first finals series after playing his first eight AFL seasons at the Suns and has shown no sign of nerves.

Against Geelong in last Friday night's preliminary final he was particularly outstanding, booting five goals from 19 disposals and 10 marks. He also picked up nine AFLCA votes.

A few break outs amongst that list to play the devils advocate ... Dunks (sort of role change), Worpel (no Titch), Daniel (role change), Boak (role change), Marshall ....

And that’s it, on paper this years forwards taking out maybe Whitfield, Walters, Martin and Heeney look very weak but as you’ve alluded to there’s normally a number of players that break out or return to premium status to fill the holes for top 10 between 100+ and mid 90’s.
I’ve no idea who, maybe Lynch but maybe Dawson, Steven, Parish, Smith, McLean, Gresham, DeGoey, Greenwood, Ryder, Naughton, Petracca, Franklin, Westhoff....One to watch for sure I guess.

Yes as mentioned for Lynch not to be top 10 it requires other FWD eligible players probably to have a role change or super breakout years... is it possible that this years FWD candidates are actually a weaker bunch?

The one thing I remember about Lynch in games early last season was that their were 3-4 games where in the first quarter he dropped a couple of marks , missed a few goals etc etc and you could sense he was losing confidence.

Take a mark , kick the goal , things change.

Midway through the season he was running up and down (something I remember they were critical he wasn't doing enough at the Suns , maybe carrying a chronic knee he couldn't).

One thing I admire about Richmond is the "love" Cotchin and the senior players show for everyone on the list and it is always team first , play your role , success will come etc etc.

Like I posted last night , Lynch has now had a pre season , he knows the system , do players kick left leg , right leg when they have the ball , do they kick 40 or 50 etc etc , and his scores improved when Jack was back , Riewoldt has certainly improved his focus to be team first so you can only thing working with Lynch will be better or they act as decoys for Dusty at times as well.

My record in SC is very ordinary but I am on the TJL ride from the very start.

That's the thing , outside of those 4 , their could very well be another 15-20 players that could all be vying for Top 10.

Does Brayshaw get enough mid time at Freo to go 90+ , a season too early for Simpkin/LDU/Thomas at North.

I guess the very very good coaches will be monitoring match simulation , pre season for any little hint of role change and then jumping on at the right time.

And then at the end of the season we will be all thinking damn that was so obvious , why didn't we pick so and so from the start ?

That supports the argument for him, not against him though doesn’t it? We’ve lost so many powerful scorers forward that he likely doesn’t need to average 105 to be right up the pointy end.

That being said, we see time and time again the top forwards are the players who are playing as midfielders. The forwards are wide open this year after Whitfield, Dusty & Heeney IMO and from where I’m sitting there doesn’t seem to be that obvious transition to midfield player available this year.

I’m super surprised that Wingard, and to a lesser extent Gray, are barely sighted in the RMT thread. I understand the reasoning for avoidance of Gray but Wingard has trained as a mid all pre season as has so far missed his annual pre season calf/hammy as far as I know.

Been locked into my side for weeks now and with the news that Buddy is looking like making round 1, Lynch makes way for Heeney.

Crystal Ball or a Time Machine ?

Might all depend on how many viable Forward rookies look like starting Round 1 as well.

The thing with Lynch & Smith with their starting price they might only be $ 425 k ish after 6 rounds anyway , so possibly can sit and wait to see how they go.

From my recollection the Forward line is commonly the lowest scoring across season averages for PREMs .... interpret that your own way ...

Haven't looked at rookie averages yet but will take that as a leading indicator for now ....

Next in the firing line is the Defensive line ... 2'nd year of the new "rules" so expect teams to adjust in some manner ... just not sure in what direction yet ...

Definitely considering Wingard, but he's at an awkward price. I generally end up with 1 or 2 Hawks max in my team, despite supporting them. There's maybe 5-6 this season I have selected in various iterations - way more than usual.

I just had a look at last years FWD averages (based on 2019 positions).. an average of 93 sits comfortably in the top 20

Let’s say TJL ends up with the 15th best average.. to have him all year with a discounted purchase means you can keep him and save a trade later on - yes he mightn’t hurt you if you don’t start with him but you would still need to spend a trade to get him in

I won’t start any players in my starting squad that I don’t think will be top 10 for their position, rookies exception and if money/structure dictate maybe 1 mid price stepping stone.

Sounds like that’s what we should all be doing... I am bullish on Lynch though.. everything points to a significant average increase plus the early draw suggests a big start to the season is possible

A 93 average would have him top 7 based on last years forward averages

This is a good point, but essentially we don’t yet know who this year’s Dunkley will be ... there will likely be others who pop up and push him (and almost everyone else) down the ranks, given that we’ve removed last year’s mid bolters, but don’t know who this year’s will be yet.

What are people thoughts on Cameron 'he is made for finals' Rayner as a 251,800 forward...

Brisbane’s enviable midfield depth was also on display, with Jarryd Lyons, Cameron Ellis-Yolmen, Jarrod Berry, Lachie Neale and Hugh McCluggage all showing their class along with star forward Charlie Cameron and Cameron Rayner for the senior side.

One end-to-end goal finished by Ellis-Yolmen highlighted the speed and skill on Brisbane’s list, with another major to Rayner showcasing his power after winning a contest on centre wing then kicking the goal at the end of the sweeping movement.

Depends on what sort of shape he's in now - if I see him dropping most of the puppy fat he has been carrying then I might be interested a little bit.

He just doesn't impact games often enough from week to week for mine at the moment and doesn't seem like the sort of driven kid who is looking to force someone out of their spot in the midfield early.

I've put Robbie in my team after one of your posts BigRuss because he doesn't have to get back to his best to be a good pick. But Wingard would have to get back to what we think is his absolute best and even then I don't think he would hurt non owners. His best years still included lots of goals. In 2013 he was only 4 goals behind Jay Schultz and in 2015 he was Port's leading goal kicker. Hawthorn have Gunston, Breust, Lewis, Patton and Puopolo who would all like some goals.
