McAdam I doubt is best 22, wasn't that impressive at training. Setterfield hasn't convinced at training either.
The mature age rookies are massively slanted towards forward rookies this year with others not being mentioned. McAdam and Setterfield are still more likely to play and have JS than Valente, West, Atkins, Hayes or Bennell.

There are training reports on BF that suggest that Setterfield will not be ready for Rd 1 but when he is fully fit should make a good impression. From the training reports on Freo I personally think if Bennell is fit and does not do something stupid off field he will almost be a cert to start rd 1. There will play him as long as his legs last but that could include some rested games later on.

It will be interesting, I just saw an interview where Setterfield said he wants to tick all the boxes and then worry about JLT, maybe not as positive as we would like. Bennell still very uncertain because of his history in my opinion. If he plays you do pick him

For me depends on the depth of the mid rookies revealed in JLT. But if he is fit then it would be very hard not to pick him. You accept on face value the possible injury issues but $167 for guy who could easily ave 95 plus is hard to go past. Yes the guy is a drop kick (pardon the pun) but you cannot question his football ability. Ride him for 5 -6 games and then if he gets a calf after that cash him in and take the money and run.

+1.

Sticking with Bailey Smith until Harley tears up JLT

……...Tom Mitchell has suffered a likely season-ending leg injury, the question of where Wingard will be lining up is one that even the 25-year-old is pondering.
“It’s a question I’ve thought about a lot in the off-season,” Wingard said.
“Whatever the team needs, I am happy to do...…… Alastair Clarkson...…….is keeping his Wingard card close to his chest......….“I’ve obviously experienced both positions, but it will be up to Clarko and the coaching panel as to what they would like to do...…...”

IT'S NO certainty star Richmond recruit Tom Lynch debuts for his new club in round one as he recovers from a knee injury...…….Riewoldt said "There'll be no rush with him. He's obviously a big investment for us and we're rapt to get him along, so we certainly won't be rolling him out in round one if he's not right. He'll come in at the right time."...…….Lynch went under the knife again in November. ……….It was a very light session for him, with the 2016 All Australian restricted to jogging and walking laps...…….Riewoldt has kept a "keen eye" on Lynch and is excited about playing alongside him, but isn't sure yet how the set-up will look. "There's a little bit of the unknown. He's such a great player and we've got a really good forward line, built on some really strong traits that we know he's going to add to......…." Riewoldt said...….. "It may be a bit clunky early on but after that, I feel like we can work on it...….."

The comment by Jroo that he might not play R1 does sound concerning but he also said that he's started running at a high pace and tracking well.

Can’t pick him if he doesn’t play JLT. Injury obviously the main risk with him. Still definitely worth tracking in the preseason.

North Melb.
As a Carlton man, I really hope he is out R1;)
I agree. I'd rather not have Lynch's 7 goals to contend with and only lose by 40 instead of 80pts.
He almost needs to play R1 to be a viable pick heh, as his best scores by far from the past 2 years have been against Carlton (160 and 180 odd). Take those out and he's very middling indeed!

Here’s the video to go with article. Only running laps at training it seems.

Reports that the Power's Dixon is not fit and won't be back till possibly Rd 4 or maybe more. Opens up a forward spot for a big man. Possibly Lycett to play more up forward? Has been a goal kicker in the past.

Hmm - could be negative for Westhoff (for a few rounds, so maybe not a massive issue). Thanks for posting.
