Collins did average 72/12 games in his first year in the AFL.
Hope your right about Cavarra, but I do have concerns that playing for a team full of mids/hff might limit any mid time he may get. Don't agree that he has better js before even playing a game but anyways will agree to disagree.
I meant better job security than Quaynor I was a bit unclear. I think right now Cavarra does have better security than Quaynor because the bulldogs really really need forwards and the pies already have a decent back line and probably need to start playing one of their midfielders more often off half-back. Obviously this is all speculative but you'd imagine that would be true. I think even with their half forwards he should be able to find some of the ball and score okay. You make a valid point about Collins but I'm not sure that his VFL form will translate to the AFL the same way that it did from the SANFL to AFL with Doedee.

There might be more FWD rookies but there are few that I’d feel comfortable with onfield. Setterfield if he gets up for rd1 should be ok. Parker/Cavarra may be ok but could also be stuck playing a pressure fwd role which is poison for SC scoring. Corbett may have a few good games but can also see lots of 30-40 types scores. Burgess I don’t know a lot about so will have to wait and see. The rest of the of them are mainly small/pressure forwards who I’d expect to have Zach Langdon type scoring if they get a game.
Quaynor looks likely for rd 1, Collins may be slightly behind according to Dew but still 5 weeks to go and we have seen him score at a reasonable level. Hore has scored well at VFL level. Then you have Wigg, Wilkie, McKay, Scrimshaw, Clark, Cox, Watson, Logue and a few others. Some will probably be bench fodder only but a few of those are high draft picks/2nd-3rd players that have potential.
Ultimately, JLT and rd 1 will tell us more, but at least it looks like we have options.
You can probably add Jez McLennan and Joel Garner to the list of potential defenders.

I will admit that I am not a stats man, all that goes straight to the keeper :)
Can somebody summarise that above, or put it in English, as I am interested in Worpel.

Heeney...…….is expected to again float through the midfield and spend plenty of time forward, but is hopeful a fit Sam Reid means he doesn’t have to play down back......… "It’s nervy down back, I’m not the biggest fan of it...……."
"It’s the first pre-season I’ve actually had. I’ve had a full pre-season now, whereas the last four years it’s been extremely interrupted, so I’m feeling fit, feeling strong......…"

Anyone else struggling with their forwards? There is too many options for once, usually I can barely find 2 that I like. Currently with Danger, Heeney, Dunkley, McLean.

Dangerfield is a lock for me, Heeney is primed to have a big breakout year. Devon Smith was one of the first picked in my side but has been squeezed out for now. Really liking both Dunkley and McLean, both 22-23 and with enough mid time I have no doubt they’ll average 100+.
Then you have guys like Menegola, Gray, Mundy, Westhoff and Kelly who all wouldn’t look out of place. Plus the POD types in Hawkins, JJK and Darling.

Was set on Danger , Heeney , Gray & Wingard (but now the latter 2 have injury clouds)

not keen on Dunkley & McLean with Libba back and Dahlhaus gone.

Menegola interrupted pre-season , ??? on Westhoff

actually liking Smith & Mundy at this stage.

Could be anywhere between 12-15 that go 95+

I’m very settled on Danger, Heeney, Telly and comfortable with Gray..

I don’t like any other top forwards so if Gray doesn’t look primed for early midfield then he’ll go straight down to a Worpel type.

Danger, Heeney, F3, Gresham.

Struggling with F3 still - has been Gray, Wingard, Dunkley, and is currently McDonald but not overly comfortable.

Danger and Heeney are locked. T.Kelly pretty close to locked. Currently flipping between Gray and Darling for F4.

This is about the time of year where I start doing a deep dive into a discount KPF. Expect Tex Walker to have a 24 hour cameo in my side at some point in the next fortnight.

Is T Kelly unpickable because of his bye if you’re playing for overall? I already have Witherden, Neale, Grundy, Danger and Heeney with the same bye. If I pick Dunkley instead that only gives me 4 players with the round 12 bye
