Deep fwd line there Leroy, thinking there won't be 4 useful fwd rookies?
After JLT 1 and 1 game of JLT 2, who would you bank in addition to Setterfield, Drew, and Parker?
Balta, but he certainly isn't 100%
Burgess , certainly wouldn't be banking on Drew , JS would be dependent on Wines.
I wouldn't be confident playing Burgess on field, reckon he might throw out some 30s playing in attack for the Suns.
Balta looked great in one pre-season game but seems a bit of a project player: I'm not sure if he even gets a game.
Parker and Drew both seem like bench options, especially if in R4 Drew goes missing for Wines.
So the deep forward line is one sort of plan, rest assured there are others :)

I'm picking Parfitt for some spike games and then offload - if he gets away can throw out some nice 100s. The Cats only play interstate twice before their bye (one of those is GC), with 5 in Geelong (3 against interstate sides).

sorry didn't realise you wanted onfield forward rookies , in that case maybe Setterfield , although he has some doubts attached to him as well.

Setterfield (Burgess , Parker) then with some questionable ones.

You should add in Tomahawk and Menegola and go 5 Geelong forwards

I don't disagree with any of this - and most of this added to why I started with Billings last year. But at the risk of sounding like a Supercoacher scorned - I won't be touching him this year; and it's the unquantifiable factors that really get me... You could see it all over his face, when things weren't going right, he was sooking and looked like it would get worse. In pressure situations he went missing. When he had an important kick for goal he absolutely melted and didn't get close. It was that sort of stuff that made me think this guy just isn't cut out for taking the step up to A grade.
I note that he also couldn't sustain strong performances after being dropped. This is an indictment on him in my view. A bit to consider.

Had a good laugh at this, you'd be great on a US debate show. Agree on all these points. Also delayed contract talks, I think St.Kilda isnt for him, more of icing on the cake player at a top club so more chances for downhill skiing.

People still keen on Greene after his 39 today? The highest picked player outside of Danger/Heeney according to the poll.

One player who edges his way into my team every now and then when the $$$ line up, but who isn't really being talked about, is Charlie Curnow.

Is anyone else considering him?

I don't think I would expect him to be a season-long keeper, but I could see him having a good start to the year, and hopefully a few big games against the easier opposition that come up before his bye, and then I would thank him for his services and give him the golden handshake. What are the chances of that working out for me?

Where's @OzRulesFootball when you need him?

Year or two too early imo. I had him last year and he was frustrating. He will get better but will also rely on good delivery and some time to gel with McGovern etc.

Agreed have also liked the comments Bolton said about him playing cameos in the midfield this year.

With McGovern feel now I think that will open Curnow up to a more high forward role with stints in the middle collecting more of the ball and increasing his scoring consistency.

Just like Toby I like to play on the edge, and have sometimes been known to over step the line. Lol
