Duncan v Whitfield to bring in this week?

Duncan would allow Simpkin to be moved forward to F5.

Duncan in leaves 1 mid and 1 fwd upgrade

Whitfield leaves 2 mid upgrades, but I still have to get Simpkin back to fwd line?

Might depend on who you already have. Say you don’t have B Smith (cheap) or Greenwood (getting cheap and playing pure mid seemingly, note drop in tackle count) or Trac (#1 forward? Durable with game in hand) then I can see the merit in getting Duncan and leaving room for one of those names up forward. The reverse is also true, but other than Titch and Cripps (and Duncan himself) I’m not sure that there are standout trade in mid options.

Have Smith, Petracca and Titch already Greenwood no, but not this week for trade in.

Bit late now. I would have said Duncan, but it was a very disappointing first quarter from him. Hope you chose Whitfield.

Keep one:

Budarick vs S Hill?
Budarick looks like getting games, Hill will breakdown again, so keep Budarick.

Hill will probably score better when he does play, but who knows how many more games he will get for the season.
Hawks is right on those points. Hill can be 50-80 whereas Buda is more 50.

The other factor is Hill is def which is hard to have rookies there and do you have a dpp mid/fwd. I have plenty of the later, however, I moved Hill on last week as I brought in McKay who I felt was a safe def rookie.

If going down to a dodge defender then would keep Hill, whereas a dodge mid or fwd is less of a risk.

Thanks @GrainFedBeef and @Ironhawk - you make some good points.

In a close one I ended up keeping Hill, largely given the uniqueness of his DPP and def eligibility. In my side Buda largely seems to replicate Close so I feel like Hill adds some balance ... now just hoping he can get on the park for the most part!

Hill also allows me to lock in Aarts’ 87 which helped nudge me over the line.

Looking at either Titch or Shuey for next week, and possibly the other the following week.
Any compelling reason to get one before the other?
Bewley will get the chop the same week as Titch to pay for the trade

Take your pick I say. Hawthorn play Freo, West Coast play Carlton, then they play each other in Rd 12. I don't see either being affected more than the other. BE for Shuey 45 v Titch 72. Titch averaging more though.

If forced to choose, I would get Titch first, possibly a bit less competition for points in the Hawthorn midfield.

I've decided to gamble and forgo Titch to get both this week. I'd definitely prioritize Simpkin though; OMac could fall off a cliff if Archie/Stef come back by late season.
Martin is still listed as 6 weeks , Smith 5 weeks suspect the minor round would be finished by the time they return.

Yeah, that's why I'm gambling.

I did compile a quick chart of OMac's CBA versus SC Scoring

The idea is to get him sub $400k for hopefully a 90+ average; the alternative would be to wait for Greenwood down the line who might get to $500k and with cash gen so hard I figured I might as well take the risk and finish my forward line.

If there’s a decent chance of not ending up with the second one, I’d definitely get Titch this week. He is SuperCoach royalty and Shuey is basically a 90s player historically.
