Hi minidee,
I like the Polec --- Shenton, Langdon ---> Hibberd/Birchall/Hurn.
The choice of Def comes down to personal preference, and what you might have planned for the extra cash.
Good luck :)
Thanks for the advice Rowsus. You are the Oracle of the SC world!

We are currently 8 hours behind Melbourne time, so it is 3.50pm here right now.
Of those choices, I like Pendles + Hurn. Good luck :)

Hi Rowsus,

Thanks for your reply. Have to agree not convinced by NicNat either. He has been good for my teams of the past years when I have had him. I know if I trade him in this week HMac will get his best score of the year ha ha. Was going to wait until Saturday before I would trade out Langford too. Got stung by him last week - had no way of getting him on the ground once he was a late in and had to settle for Gardiners score. My plan was to get Bartel/Simpson or the like to finish off backline and not settle for a lower ranked defender. I do like Thompson on previous years form on the cheaper side of decent defenders.

Love your work again this year!!!

I copied my team link in again it works for me now.
My side is Saints & Sinners

Gday Rowsus another 2 questions for you,
Trading in a M9 this week and have Acres sitting M10 who would you go
* Shenton for the M/F link but can only get Shaw or Hanley as final Defender or
* O'Brien and risk the JS but can get any Defender other then the top 2.

And now if i go the first option who would you pick out of them two? Hanley looks fit after last game but Shaw is Shaw and could go good.
But if i go option two is there any defenders you see that will ave more then them two to take the risk? Cant get Simpson or McVeigh.
Cheers mate

Hi Rowsus,

Thinking of doing a sideways Hmac to Naitanui. Is this a waste of a trade and should I hold fire for now? Hmac has been serviceable but doesn't look like he can go up another gear. Nic Nat if he runs into fitness could make a charge for the rest of the season but... ?

Other issue I have is Langford, was going to hold him for 1 or 2 more weeks for a bit more cash but not selected again. Best I can do if I trade out Langford is $454,000.

Very annoying as this cash was set aside for Tyson to Fyfe in a week or 2.

Any insights would be much appreciated.

cheers

Ok, I'm guessing you have $126,600 sitting in the bank?
Have you thought about Lloyd out, Shenton down, O'Brien in? (+$119,100)
If you do that you have $573,100 when Langford goes out.
Given you still have 3 full upgrades and 3 half upgrades to make, I don't think you can afford to use it all at once.
Given your need to make a few upgrades, and the backline is the best place to compromise, I think I'd choose out of Jaensch, Murphy R or SD Thompson. I'd probably go Thompson. He's owned by less than 3% of Coaches, can go large, has dropped $114,000 this season, and should be about to rise in price (B/E 73). You can re-establish your DPP M/F link later by shifting Shenton up when you trade out Acres/O'Brien.
Good luck :)

Rowsus, please help!! **** (posted in trades forum but not help as yet)

please advise, i have two options either this week or next. much of a muchness i'm just a bit torn. my trades as i currently see it are:
Rd 12 Langdon----Hibberd
Rd 13 L Taylor----OBrien
Hallahan----L Parker via Shenton DPP

My query is do i swap them? i'm tight on cash but without any ridiculous scores either week i should be ok.

SC Gold says the parker option gives me another 50 points in the bank. But the Hibberd option gives me another week to see if OBrien has JS. This is to finish off my team. Please help!

Hi ****,
I actually think O'Brien is pretty safe, but I still think it is best to go the conservative option, just in case. Wait for him to bubble. We obviously can't be sure it will cost you 50 points, but even if it did, 50 points isn't worth the hassle if O'Brien bombs this week, and is out next week.
Good luck :)

Hi Rowsus

Quick one this time....

Tex + Swallow/Jaensch/other $500+ premo defender
VS
Zorko + Hurn

Forward will be traded in this week and defender traded in next week.

Given that Sanderson has said Tex will definitely be managed/rested, he is a risk.
Having said that, there may not be a lot between your choices. I think I will favour Zorko + Hurn, just! :)

Hi johno,
I haven't been ignoring your question, I've just been trying to get the trade table up to help you to decide.
I think if one is going to go "missing", as in poor form or missed games, it is more likely to be Shaw. I actually don't mind Birchall as an option either, though he burnt many people last season. O'Brien may be on shakey ground, but I've just a got a feeling he'll be ok. Mature age, good form last season, and being getting good numbers in the NEAFL. Having said that, Shenton looks good, too. Obviously, at the moment Shenton is a safer pick, maybe go him with Hanley/Birchall.
Good luck, I hope to have your 2 tables up in 15 minutes. :)

Yep it's a difficult choice. Was all set on Tex until Sando's comment. Not sure if I should still take a risk though!! I think the cash is swaying me. I'm thinking a few weeks ahead to a Higgins upgrade with the savings.....

Hi Rowsus,
Has Petrie passed away in the dish or is it worth preserving him. With minimal trades left, I am loathe to flush a fallen premium.

Just keep in mind, Tex is a bit of a FTB, and the games he is likely to be rested in, are the exact games you'd hope he goes big!
GWS rnd 16, and Bris rnd 20 spring to mind.

Hi Courtesans, I am of course in the same boat. I think i've ridden him this far, and North's draw is just about to get juicy. I'd love to have a decent F7 to loophole, but I don't. I think the disappoint of Trading Petrie, and he comes good, is bigger than holding him, and he keeps coughing up 60-70. I'm sticking with him, he's about to play the games we really hoped he'd go big in, plus he's now nearly too cheap to trade out.

Good point, thanks! Zorko it is then. Will take the punt on Tex in Fantasy where it's less risk.

Cheers again.

Thanks, my thoughts too, the next few weeks will tell the tale if he still has it. The iffy ones in your side create the line of sweat above the lip, feels great if they come good!

Slainte!

Hi Mike,
sorry for the late reply. I would have said Zorko, and if not him Dahlhaus.
I hope you chose well! :)
