What's your thoughts on Daniel Rich mate? Looks cheap and talented but has never averaged above 90 and is coming back into a star studded Lions midfield, is he too far down the pecking order there to score well enough as a keeper mid?
Ill be starting with him easily av more than a rookie and will be a easy upgrade to a prem or make a good m9/10
I don't think I will have room for him. There are just too many doubts on his role/scoring potential with Brisbanes new look Midfield. Here's what I wrote on him about 2 months ago. I haven't checked the pricing detail since SC Gold opened yesterday though.

Price of $348,300, which using 5375 as the magic number, comes out to be 64.8. Well done NostraRowsus :D:p:cool:

PS. also agree wholeheartedly on the analysis.

Totes agree, would only be viable as a stepping stone.
Mayes might be another stepping stone in the Backline.
DPP also might be the player that benefits after all the trading..

Dearest Rowsus, I'm waking from my post season slumber and was wondering if you had any general statistical insights towards Rockliff - tog, scoring with/without Rich etc. Hope you had a Merry Christmas mate!

Dearest Rowsus, thoughts on Travis Boak please...I think his points vs TOG are very high? Not sure Hinkley would be as inclined to rest during the year this year with a concerted push for top 2/2finals.

Sorry it's taken so long, but I think you will like the answer. I actually thought it deserved it's own thread. You can find it here:

Hi happydays, Boak summary is coming, but it won't quite get the Rocky treatment!

No questions yet Row, just saying hi, will bombard you later!

Why are there so many spiders checking out scs?? Are the users just that good they need to check out all forums?

Hi Row,

As I pointed out in the Def thread, I don't like Ibbo. Having said that, I don't like either combo you have, but would choose Rockliff and Ibbo if forced to take one of the two.

Wait, is Fisher back on people's possible start list?
Fisher is becoming seriously considered this season for 3 reasons.
1) A lack of bankable Def Prems
2) from 2006 to 2011 he played 20+ games per season and averaged between 91 and 101 in each season.
3) his 7 games last season returned 92/game, but he's only priced at 82.8 for this season.

Why are there so many spiders checking out scs?? Are the users just that good they need to check out all forums?
I think it is more to do with success rates. Spiders are more likely to return to pages that have produced positive hits for their engine. Our site has obviously produced quite a number of positive hits, particularly for Baidu, and therefore it keeps coming back.

What do you mean by "spiders"
Spiders are what search engines use to "crawl" over web pages, looking for key Words and phrases.

Hi Rowsus,

I was wondering what you think of Luke Parker. He seems to be a player that just keeps on getting better. He is strong, durable and at 22 years olds I'm wondering if we may have another in the next wave of supercoach super premiums coming through (other potentials on my list being Libba, Fyfe and Rockliff)

Love Libba and he will get better and better but the poor bastard is going to get tagged out of games with Griff and Cooney gone. I wouldn't start with him. He could (unlikely) be an upgrade target later in the season but we need to see how he goes with the tag.

Dearest happydays,
I'd have to say, I don't find anything remarkable in his TOG% to SC points scored. His SC Points/100%TOG is only just above 130. and that's the minimum level you should accept in a Mid Keeper. There are too many other options with upside, and without the string of low scores, to justify taking the risk on Boak (imo).

I don't think he's worth the risk at the price. He made a 21.6/game jump to 108.5 last season, and the history is pretty strong that that kind of jump is usually followed by a decrease the next season. Add that to the fact that Sydney is looking more and more like Hawthorn in their Mid set up/rotation, and I'd be loathed to take anyone outside of JPK (and I won't be taking him either!). No Hawthorn Mid has looked like going 115+ plus for a while, and I am guessing Sydney is heading in that direction too. JPK's incomparable CP rate is the thing that qualifies him as a possible exception.
At Parker's price you want/need him to hold or increase his average. I just can't see him achieving that.
You will see in 2014 Chasing Last Years Points..... that 35 players in the history of SC have managed the double feat of making a 20+/game average from one year to the next, and having that new average reaching 102+/game. Of those 35 players, only Ablett, Swan and Liberatore have managed an increased average the following season after their jump to 102+. We are talking 2 of the best SC players of all time, and Libba, who managed it last season. Parker could join them, but 32 out of 35 have failed to do it, so I will back him to drop in average this season too.
