Tom Morris reports...

GWS forward Bobby Hill has emerged as the potential circuit-breaker to assist Rory Lobb’s move back to the Giants.
Hill is contracted for next year but is managed by the same agency as Lobb, who has two seasons remaining on his deal at Fremantle.

Lobb has completed a medical at the Giants but there is still significant work to do before he finds his way back to the club that drafted him with Pick 29 in 2013.

Hill played 17 games for GWS in 2021 and is considered a required player at this stage, though the carrot of Lobb – potentially with part of his salary paid by the Dockers – could attract the Giants.

Peter Bell on radio tonight said that the manager of Rory Lobb had called him 5.30pm and advised they had received an offer from GWS but he (the manager) advised Bell he did not think the deal offered was going to get the job done. Maybe GWS playing lowball or maybe the deal was really not good enough.

I feel like Tom Browne is the only one shocked by this, rumour has been going around for ages that Finlayson was leaving and that a SA team was the destination...

Silver lining of losing Hewett and Dawson to keep Stephens, kid could be a genuine star, next step is someone convincing Horse to actually play him...

Still another genuinely dreadful o***eason in the Harley era where horrible cap management seems to be the goal. Just waiting to take extreme unders on Dawson and Hewett as well, heck with our recent trade history I'm waiting for us to pay clubs to take them...
Probably tricky starting this year and next with Buddy's big $$$...

COLLINGWOOD ruckman Max Lynch has formalised his request to join Hawthorn and could be the player who sparks the ruck merry-go-round into action.
Collingwood football manager Graham Wright told Sportsday on Monday night that Lynch's management had made the club aware of his wish to join the Hawks in the final two days of the Trade Period.
