Is there any chance they make rd 14 week 1 of SC finals and make rd 15 a bye round and not have finals at all and then continue in rd 16/17/18?
That sounds fair, however I hope it doesn't happen. This season is like no other, with all the twists and turns and curveballs. It keeps you on your toes! We have limited trades and limited time to deal with the carnage, but it's part of the madness that is 2020 and should be treated as such, to the full extent.

Where's the dislike button... Knew it was coming but stupid to leave a world class venue like Optus Stadium empty when more teams could have been flown over here like RIC & WBD.
Maybe with the high amount of games they don’t want players playing on that surface.

Following on from this, I really hope they keep it best 18 too. For the same reasons.

Now change my mind ;)

Yeah they are going to have to do something different for ROund 15... Just too many teams out that we caouldn't have planned for.

Best 18 won't be enough.
I think you can plan trades in R13 and R14 in the lead up to prepare. There was always going to be an element of "lotto" with the way these byes were going to be structured. I'd personally prefer they just stuck to Best 18 and added extra trades to help teams deal with moving around their bye players.

No... the AFL have said they want to "Grow" the game in QLD, and "Reward" QLD for what they have done for footy. The Optus surface is a lot better these days, to the point you don't even hear teams talking about it anymore.

Doesn't make a lot of sense abandoning a stadium that is capable of the biggest crowds at the moment. But it is what it is I guess.

The Grand Final is looking good for Optus though with Brisbane confirming the most they can have at the GF is 17,000-18,000 people. Optus will likely be at full 60,000 capacity by then. Makes a Perth GF a lot more likely with all those corporate dollars pouring in.

I checked and I do only have 9 with the Rd 15 bye, I am better off than I thought. Unfortunately most of those 9 are premiums - that's what kills me. Guessing a lot will be far worse off.

Yeah extra trades the best solution, I've tried to be cautious only having a couple of players from each team knowing the Bye was coming for them... But you couldn't predict 6 teams would have the same Bye... Would have thought 4 teams would have been the most having the same Bye.

Just saying it’s probably part of the reason, I wouldn’t want Essendon playing multiple games there in a short span for fear of them being injured. Several players have said its the hardest ground they’ve ever played on.

Just did a stocktake for my team for round 15 and it's a better result than I expected.

Green = available
Red = bye
Yellow = donut

DEF: Haynes, Ridley, Z Williams, Andrews, Docherty, Rivers (B Williams, Stewart)
MID:
Neale, Oliver, Mitchell, Cripps, Merrett, Starcevich, Wicks, Bennell (Duncan, Bontempelli, Simpson)
RUC: Grundy, Draper (Goldstein)
FWD:
Petracca, Dusty, Whitfield, B Smith, Simpkin, Rankine (Georgiades, Close)

Assuming we get extra trades, by round 15, I am expecting to trade some of the players above so planning that team will look more like:

DEF: Haynes, Ridley, Z Williams, Lloyd, Docherty, Rivers (B Williams, Stewart)
MID:
Neale, Oliver, Mitchell, Cripps, Merrett, Premium, Starcevich, Wicks (Rookie, Duncan, Bontempelli)
RUC: Gawn, Grundy, (Draper)
FWD: Petracca, Dusty, Whitfield, Premium, Rookie, Rookie (B Smith, Simpkin)

So if all goes well, could possibly have 22 available with 17 of them being premiums.

Could even sideways trade some of the premiums on the bye but that would depend on how many extra trades we get.
