Still another week left to back out of the Cullen move and go the potential safer route of Clayton (C).

Look out for the next event being posted up on Monday night at the conclusion of a tumultuous Rd 13 bye round, and ahead of Premier League Finals night on Tuesday morning.
And since a certain someone is struggling to field 15 players in both formats this round, I will again introduce the lesser known players participating in this tournament, similar to what was done in the UK Open.

As no surprise to those who regularly tune into the World Championships, there is only one starting point and that is Team Singapore headlined by a living legend, a darting icon, at sixty eight years young, the incomparable Paul Lim!

Recorded the first televised nine darter at the World Championships in 1990 for a grand prize of £52,000 (£28,000 more than the 1990 World Champion). It took 19 years for another player to record a nine darter on the World Championship stage. Paul turned back the clock in 2018 narrowly missing the double twelve for another nine darter 28 years later.

Paul Lim and Harith Lim have represented Singapore at all stagings of the event and only once have failed to reach the second round (2015 against second seed Scotland). In 2017 they defeated number one seed Scotland in the first round on their run to the quarter finals and in 2019 defeated the Welsh pair of Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton in the opening round.

Both feature on the Asian soft tip circuit and Paul has recently been competing in the World Seniors tournaments.

Austria: Mensur Suljovic and Rowby-John Rodriguez

Mensur has represented Austria since the inception of the tournament in 2010 with six of the eleven stagings with Rowby-John as his partner for returns of two second round exits, three quarter final exits and runners up last season in which they defeated Belgium, Northern Ireland and England en route to losing in the final against Scotland.

Rowby-John is a 2014 PDC World Youth Championship Finalist with a career high year end ranking around the mid 40’s around the same time period (2015-2016) and recently is hovering around the 65-90 range. His two brothers (Rusty-Jake and Roxy-James) also compete in the PDC with a family pairing in store if Mensur eventually transitions to the seniors circuit.

A second round matchup against Wales awaits the Austrians (if they are successful against Finland) and they should be the toughest opponents that Wales will have to face before the Semi Finals. The most probable of the unseeded nations to make a deep run in the tournament.

Brazil: Diogo Portela and Artur Valle

Diogo has led Brazil on all occasions since 2017 and they have recorded three consecutive first round exits. Very difficult section of the draw with a first round matchup against the number three seed in the Netherlands and hard too see an upset here.
