I’ll likely post my full squad (nicely formatted!) on the weekend, but I would struggle to trade ROB or Ceglar given they’re my R1 and 2, with only guys like Hickey, Kreuz and De Koning as backup.

Fort could be tradeable, but note he’s not R-F, if that’s what you were thinking (just FWD). He could maybe strengthen your forward line though, if you’re bullish on him getting hitouts and rucks scoring well (as most of us probably are). I’d also be open to trading Steven - albeit worth flagging that I am reasonably bullish on both of them as picks at their prices. Fort could be a handy R-F next year and Steven could be close to a top forward if he gets himself right (I know that’s a decent “if”).
Open to both Fort and Stevens .... and know what positions they both occupy and associated risks both carry ...

- Have a look at my side and would seriously consider a decent offer ... salary and contract years not a concern ... would even potentially lean in your favour !! Have at least four players in a last case scenario I would consider ...

Me either trade wise .. all new to me as well ... actually thought that there would be some offers on the table by now ....
Think you’ll find coaches will be running the final numbers on the the allocation of contract years at the moment and assessing and reassessing their players and list. Not to mention other teams lists.

That’s where I’m at, I’m starting to go through and identify players who fit what I need and my cap implications. I’ll also be awaiting the lockout of contract years and then double checking my assessments on things thoroughly before approaching anyone for discussions.

Edit: your squad looks pretty solid for game counts up forward, so Steven might be the sort of player that could blend well (scoring likely well inside your F6, with game count the main risk, but you have durable forwards, so maybe you can handle that risk). Thomas is probably the main one I can see that would be of interest, not sure if something involving Steven and Thomas could make sense for both of us.
Just bumping this given my edit was a bit slow, and now sits on the prior page.

Will take another look at your squad, but Thomas is the one that comes to mind (fitting both what I could do with, and what you could potentially live without, as I see it, given your cap situation).

Open to trading Thomas ... don't really want to but only for Fort ....
- it doesn't really help my salary cap situation .... but coupled (not required yet) with another rookie trade for say Steven or someone else ... gets interesting ...

Let me know if this a serious viable option ... might be our first trade of this comp though ... am prepared to lock it in prior to confirmation ... wake up and assess the rest of my options ..

- Will be back tomorrow arvo / night for other trade possibilities ..

Yeah ... I'm in a catch 22 situation ... got plenty of cash (2020) and potential contract years up my sleeve as I currently sit .... would actually be easier if I didn't ....

But I'm starting to doubt if it has any advantage going forward ... still trying to weigh this all up ...
- Bit disappointed that salary cap saved in one year can't be used for future acquisitions etc .. I actually thought clubs did this ... but no evidence to back it up ... a poor assumption at my end ... probably gonna cost me too ... no big deal ...

- But them the rules ... same with contract years .... I read a max of 132 but no implications of going lower ... think I need to join the rules committee to fully understand what is going on .... don't think this aspect was clearly articulated (or I'm purely stupid - possibly) .. but hey love the comp .... just realising where I went wrong on the finer points ...

Don't take any of my observations in a negative view .... I'm here and probably will be for ages ... might just be a stubborn learner in a new comp format ,,,

As an aside I was trying to work out how to handle contracts and salaries if I owned a club (AFL) ..... wouldn't be pretty for some players
I can tell you ... lol

Yawn .... my bush Cat aint happy (not upset ... more annoyed at my interuption of his sleeping space but not an uncommon occerence) ... took back the main chair early this morning in an endeavour to design a team Guernsey ....

- Got the back design figured out (I think) ...

- But didn't have enough software for what I wanted to acheive with the front design despite every work around I could think of .... hopefully @Bermi can help me on this front ... no pun intended ...

** PLEASE READ **

Contract Years Submission Deadline

11:59PM Friday 5th June

Please ensure your side meets the outlined criteria as has been discussed numerous times.

Re. Trades

Trades will be able to be completed sometime following the Contract Years Submission Deadline. @KLo30 is working on a team tracking document that will house each teams playing list, contract years, contract amounts, etc. as well as a Trade Submission hub, and will likely make further announcements surrounding this over the coming days.

In the near future a thread will be posted in the TapTalk forum to post 'ads' for players you may wish to put on the trade table, or for players of a certain position, age, salary, contract, etc. that you may be wishing to recruit. Personally I would advise holding trade discussions privately between the parties, so that details of discussions aren't able to be seen by other coaches (who might then 'trump' you with a better offer). But that's up to the individuals.

Team Threads

If over the next few days teams could start to create their threads on the TapTalk forum that would be good. This is where coaches will also house copies of their lists, draft picks held, and contract and salary info, etc.

HOME GROUND

'THE FURNACE'

Located in South-East Melbourne, this 165,000 seat stadium should just be large enough to house all the fanatical Giants fans throughout the SCSUL season. 'The Furnace' is a fitting name for this stadium given the striking orange light show that forms part of the gameday entertainment at home games, coupled with the searing heat in which opposition teams will find themselves under when they come to town to take on The Giants. A world-class playing surface deserves a world-class viewing experience, and that's what Giants fans will get with top of the line bright orange padded seats installed throughout the entire stadium and giant LED screens to enhance their experience.

Players will be looked after with five-star change room facilities located beneath the playing surface, where ever player has a personalised locker fully-equipped with a fridge, safe and boot stand among other things.

TRAINING FACILITY

GOODMAN FOOTBALL GROUP HQ

Housing both clubs under the GFG network, this new-age training facility is as good as it gets for the modern fantasy footballer. Located only a few hundred metres from GIANTS GLOBE, Goodman Football Group HQ has four ovals surrounding the state-of-the-art indoor training complex, leaving ample room for Giants and Guns players to train. Heading indoors, there's an undercover oval, spacious gym, hyperbaric chamber and an Olympic size swimming pool ensuring GFG clubs are industry leaders in training, preparation and recovery. The GFG HQ has the space and potential to expanded in the future should any further club licences be acquired.

Excellent as usual from all involved with the write ups.

Sounds like skinfolds could be a concern for your marquee players, boding well for the opposing teams if you don’t receive the required or desired return on investment.

I could be persuaded to trade Fort and Steven, but would probably need something reasonably enticing (I think both are very cheap and could have favorable roles) and/or of meaningful value for my side (top mids, top talent etc, as discussed).

Thomas could be a good start though, he is of interest. Who were the 4 players you alluded to above?

FYI Fort is on the one year contract, as you’re probably well aware, and for Steven I plan to give him three years.

Happy to move to PM if you prefer, although personally I’m happy discussing in the open:

(1) I think the more trading there is, the better,

(2) most of the above is obvious in my view, at least at this stage,

and

(3) I plan to be pretty transparent on my approach to trading anyway. I won’t necessarily be giving away my whole strategy, but I definitely won’t be trying to stitch up my counterparties. I’m more keen to find win-win trades.

SCS Supercoach Ultimate League history has been created tonight, with the first female to be elected as an inaugural Club President.

The Dagobah Immortals, are proud to announce the President of the Club, Yaddle.

Highly sought after for her great wisdom, Yaddle will lead a 12 person board, known as 'The Council'. Yaddle brings a wealth of experience gained over several centuries. While presiding over the Club, Yaddle will also have an active role in developing and mentoring the leadership of the Club, from the coaches, administration and players.

One of Yaddle's first tasks, in conjuction with coach Philzsay, will be to oversee the appointment of the players leadership team, expected to be announced in coming days.

Will move to PM .. not being cagey either ... am very up front myself .....need to go look at my list in detail ... wasn't expecting both to be on the table so need to have a deeper look ...
