Lol, I couldn't split LDU and Neale this morning either!

LDU's form while improving has been sluggish, Neale has been solid without being spectacular! Though he did a couple of 160's against the Suns and Richmond! My worry on him in the end was on his age, 31 and where does Ashcroft slide into the team latter this year and how does that work for the Lions. Ashcroft either plays half forward for a while or if he goes into the midfield McCluggage or Berry gets pushed to the wings? If they had been comfortable in the 8 as well, a rest would've/could've been on the cards, though given their current position I don't foresee that happening?

So I looked at LDU's history for the past few years, focusing on post bye, not concise but here are the details.

2021 Played 11 after the bye, ave 93 with a season ave of 85.
4 tons and a best of 119.
2022 Played 9 after the bye, ave 111 with a season ave of 101.
6 tons and a best of 149.
2023 Played 7 (missed the last 2 games) ave 121 with a season ave of 114
6 tons with a best of 134.
2024 upto the bye played 11 (hasn't missed) with an ave of 104.
7 tons with a best of 152.

Clearly shows he gets better in the second half of the season. I also think since Sheezel has gone into the middle has helped him, whether through the oppo spending time on Sheezel and less on him or mentality he feels better for the support? Haven't seen any North games for a while.
In the end as I only have 1 spot in the midfield to go, without any sideways trading of the likes of Green, Steele, Dawson and Miller in the plans yet, so I decided to grab Zorko this week and wait for Serong, while looking at both of these guys for another week as a potential sideways trade!
Xerris HTA have been much improved since I traded out LDU 🤣🤣

Dawson vs McMullin doing my head in.

McMullin seems the more natural scorer.

DPP of no real help with the way my team wants to be set up.

Just need to decide who is more likely to play for the next 3 weeks.

Ash, Kelly, Cumming and Perryman all less than 3 weeks away for GWS.

Bergman, Logue and McKercher the ones for North.

Feel as though JS slightly favours Dawson but scoring potential favours McMullin.

If you need a tie breaker, I usually try and avoid single position players at this time unless they have clear JS security. If you’re going to end up with a dead rookie at least Dawson can float around (either from trade loophole or optimise feature) even without a direct DPP link. Depends on the rest of your bench and what dead players you’re carrying but worth consideration if you need something to split them.
FWIW I don’t think either is a high chance of playing past this week (not no chance, just not a high one) which is why I took a punt on Dowling. Might still grab one but didn’t want to be forced into grabbing them.

Sometimes in todays world, with the the naming of the sub, its first cab off the ranks is the best choice.
Heard W Dawson was training as a forward this week and with K Dawson in suggests he’ll go forward so points may be reduced if thats the case. Also JS may be shaky.
Dawson suits my needs with his D/F so will probably go with him regardless but is difficult to choose.
But i’d reckon Ash and Perryman showing 2-3 weeks away and Kelly 1-2 weeks away, won’t get up until rd 15.
Looking at their VFL team for before the bye, can’t see many knocking down the door.
Don’t follow it to know if anyone is knocking the door down.

Any thoughts on Harry Edwards WC defender. Played 2 games and scored ok in both but a gap btw both games. No one is mentioning him. No JS????
What is the story with Edwards, has been named this week. how's the js? Not a West Coast fan any idea who he is replacing

North Melb.
Ended up doing:

Johnson > W Dawson
Wilson > Heeney
Windsor > Bolton

The last pick was between Powell/McCrae/Bolton, at reasonably similar prices for what will likely end up as a f7/m9 swingman.
Bolton has the better ceiling I reckon, but produced almost bang on his average last night. A goal out of the three points would have had him at an acceptable score.
Not expecting a lot out of Dawson, but the dpp swing with Sexton may come in handy. Won't matter if he plays or not after next round, can float around as a d/f donut.

Graham Wilson Darcy > LDU Fisher Dawson leaves me with the below;

3 trades will be used next week to get Ryan, leaving me 11 trades and just F6 needing an upgrade. Rankine the target there, and hope to have a luxury trade or two to move on Clarry and maybe Steele.

Suspect I'll have 8 trades once full premium.

If W Dawson was named as sub, would that change new owners’ decision to bring him in?
He only brings in cash if you trade him back out again, which at this stage of the season isn't always a guarantee...
I'm mainly trading in W Dawson for his low price and his dual position, I have 21 players this round, so him starting as a sub would not bother me.
