DEFS: I love that they've gotten rid of the midfielder type players from the backline, it will definitely help make our teams more unique. You prob all know about my love of Malceski pick from last year if you've read any of my posts about him but sadly I can't justify starting him at his price. Three of my back premiums have burnt me in previous years and so I'm putting a lot of faith picking them in my team this year.
Simpson: He's averaged 93+ in his past 6 years so he's pretty consistent, had two stinkers last year but was able to ton up in half of his games.
Shaw: He's averaged 90+ every year since 2006 so as long as he doesn't have any brain fades he'll be in my team.
Birchall: He doesn't ton up a lot but his scores are generally consistent, just has the odd stinkers every now and then and also I had to pick a hawk player
Hurn: Oh Hurn, you pretty much single handedly ended my supercoach season from round 2, I trade you out and then you give out monster scores. Hoping that you having the captaincy will make you look your body more.
MIDS: Originally I intended to go for a 3 premo 7 rookie midfield but with the new addition with the mids, will feel more comfortable with a 4th premo and 7 rookies. Been uncertain with M4 all summer can still change up until first lockout.
GAJ & Pendles: LOCK LOCK LOCK
Selwood: I've had doubts about this guy for many years but he truly is a super premium
Ward: My current M4 and to me he's the GAJ of GWS when I saw his numbers last year.
Rookies: My M11 will definitely be a M/F.
RUC: This line is always the most difficult to get right for me. Last year my initial pick was Lobbe but I ended up picking Cox which ended up being such a fail. Also choosing Thurlow over Ben Brown. With one less ruck spot will see me not fail as much I hope.
Naitanui: Hopefully Cox retiring will help him and hope that Lycett doesn't steal too much ruck time off him. He is a beast when he's fit and firing and well underpriced. originally I wanted to get Goldstein due to his monster scores
Leuenberger: Hoping he can get some good scores up until the bye rounds.
Read: Best R/F rookie to have in terms of loopholing.
FWDS: So many M/F's to pick from, so little space to fit them all. My plan was to stack my fwd line with 5 M/F's with Clark at M6 but I couldn't afford anyone decent besides Tom Mitchell that so got a midpricer at M5.
Deledio/Goddard: Glad to be able to pick them both up as DPP again, this time as M/F's
Martin: Consistent scoring again from him last year but a bit hesitant to pick up both him and Delids so Martin could be Bartel b4 lockout.
Swan: Just hope he can bounce back and get a 95+ average and i'll be happy.
Bellchambers: He is the David Hale of 2014 aka my R/F swingman for this year. He should make some money if he can get an 80 odd average for a juicy upgrade:
Clark: Cheap and should fire in the geelong fwd line.
ROOKIES: All rookies subject to change pending preseason games*
My alternative for the R/F conundrum is to get leuenberger + bellchambers or switch to goldstein + fwd rookie but I will post this question int the X v Y thread.
Any feedback would be appreciated
