It's your team, so I can't make specific decisions for it, but let's imagine for a minute that this was my team. Firstly, I would be quite satisfied with the majority of it. Note that the structure is almost identical to my own team, many of the same selections too (23/30). I would be looking at downgrading Weitering to a basement price rookie, probably Adams, maybe Ruggles at this stage, adding enough to your kitty so that you can ensure your M5 is a keeper. I would upgrade Libba to a player in the 520-550k bracket, a Wines, Adams, Parker or Shiel.
Thanks for the advice BomberSam. I guess when round 1 teams drop well have a better idea of how many def rookies are available.

Note that with your structure, you are relying on four defensive rookies, two on field and two on the bench. There will be at least four cheaper options than Weitering. He will more than likely score better but the cash generation could be similar. Hartley, Brown and Tipungwuti will play. Adams will almost certainly play. Methinks Ruggles is a good chance. Broad will have shaky JS depending on Yarran but might play...

I have a couple of teams. One has 14 players that should be keepers. One has 13 of those fourteen that should be keepers, plus Libba and Sheridan. So if one of them becomes a keeper, I've lost nothing on my other option, with the chance to gain an extra keeper. Thoughts?

If they both fail will you go one up one down?

I woke up this morning with this team set-up. God I feel naked without a decent F4 (Dusty, Cyril). Any suggestions are welcomed. This is the first time that Shaw has been in my team. Not sure how I feel about it.

Managed to get danger into my team- feel the mids are extremely strong now, though at the expense of downgrading Oliver to a fd ( macpherson) who won't be upgraded until later in the year as a rookie.
Only 2 forward premiums is what I had to give up however feel the players I have selected have good security and plenty of dollars to be made.

Would really appreciate your thoughts-

I think this will be my final team ( for at least a week!)

D: Shaw, Laird, Simpson, Bartel, Brown, Hartley (Tippa, Ruggles)
M: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ, Rocky, Libba, Mills, Oliver, Bennedy (Gresham, Newman, Davis)
R: Goldy, Gawn (Wyatt)
F: Dusty, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Menadue (McCarthy, Adams)

I make that 14 keepers if Hall goes OK. Kerridge may turn into a star too, but not exactly a POD!)
Almost identical to the version I had yesterday :p
Looks good

Kerridge twice would be handy, but probably not allowed!

Very very very scary how similar our teams are. Most won't like 2-Wells-rookies forward line but i think it's a good calculated risk this year.

How are you feeling about your D5-6 especially. They've been a focus for me of late (thanks BB!).

You may also need to try and find some cash if some rookies do eventually get named rd1 which im sure you're aware of.

I think your premiums are very solid (all of Shaw, Fyfe, Goldy, S.Martin) but just don't think you'll have enough cash generation to upgrade to a full side. Papley, Ruggles, MacP (FD?) will probably stunt your team's growth. Hewett & Broad have much better scoring potential than Ruggles & Papley although all have JS concerns. If the former get picked, you'll need a way to start them. Oliver could be a great option too although maybe not a must have.

I'd try downgrade one of Shaw, S.Martin or Pendles/Ablett to fit in those rookies.

Read a post in the Midfielders Discussion from IDIG about having 5 guns and a POD/Breakout in the middle.

Had a little play with my side and came up with this. Whilst just looking at it now I really like the look of it. The fact I only have $500 left too really makes me feel like I am getting value for money!

I like it, and very similar to my structure at the moment. You have points and upgrades covered. Smith and Hall performing well seems to be the key. Good luck!

Thanks IDig, effectively swapped out Dahlhaus for danger. I am concerned more about brown at D5 if he plays forward as points will be low- think Adams will start and will field him instead of brown. Without impacting my structure need to stick with 2 rookies in defense and hope my gun midfield more than makes up for the points

Thanks bomber18, want to keep my mids together so will keep the mid structure unless Ablett isn't fit- then would turn him into Oliver. I like Oliver but decided to keep Libba instead. Could downgrade Martin to Gawn which frees up cash to get a Hewlett/ broad type.

Cheers
