Yes thats a very good point. I have reassessed and currently just have Bines as a FD. Thanks for your help

Thanks for the input. What about the forward line do you find the most risky? Have adjusted my team to the suggestions that you made. Do you think it would still be a good idea to start Clark? and then have Bines in the forward line as a loop with Hoff in the rucks?
My recommendation would be to avoid Clarke, go for Goldy or Gawn and use Hoff as cover with Bines. Then go one of Menegola/Darling/Walters down to a rookie and find the cash elsewhere to upgrade your rucks

I currently have 6 rookies priced at Walsh and under on field

I also have Moore and Collins

I currently have Smith and Rocky but that could change. Ideally 14 keepers but that depends on how the value guys perform.

It’s hard to avoid Smith types and keep the rookie count at 6.

Some nice looking teams on here have 7 starting rookies
Are you counting Collins in that group of 6 rookies.

But you’ve got Smith and Williams?

Seriously though, nice team

You need Goldy to perform
Its almost irrational that we don't classify players like midfielders like Sloane as mid pricers when we often classify forwards under 500k as mid pricers. I have Boak who is the 23rd most expensive forward as well as Steele who is the 47th most expensive mid, but most people would classify Boak as more of a mid pricer at 478k versus Steele at 512k

Williams, Smith, Moore, Collins, Skrimshaw, Clarke, (Duursma,Hore)

Cripps, Oliver, Neale, Fyfe, Mrouch, Rockliff, Walsh, Butters (Constable,Scott,Gibbons)

Gawn, Westhoff (Bines)

Danger, Heeney, Telly, Dunkley, Setterfield, Drew (Burgess,Balta)

50k feft.

Don’t expect Williams, Smith or Rocky to be in my final side so would need some injury luck so I have the trades to pick off the premium Defenders.

Can't overstate how much I agree with this.

Midprice should mean midprice in their position, not in relation to the overall field.

Being sensible this year and going GnR strategy instead of mid-price madness :devilish: Someone please poke some holes in this team.
Think it's very well balanced. These GnR monks truck no diversion from the true path, but to midpricer-lovers like me it looks very restrained and good and I can see why you'd call it GnR. Personally I don't like the Darling pick and am a bit shocked it has become popular lately, but apart from that I think the team flies.

For me a Guns n Rookie strategy is built around Uber Premiums on each line - would look something like this for me.

Lloyd, Laird, Whitfield, R, R, R,
Macrae, Cripps, Oliver, Fyfe, Neale, R, R, R,
Gawn, Grundy
Danger, Heeney, Gray, R, R, R

And even then if there were lower priced rookie options available it would be near impossible to get that team above.

This is very similar to mine, so it's great. Think I have Whitfield, Bont, Dusty, Grundy, Billings to your Telly, Oliver, Neale, Westhoff, Dunkley. Can see the argument for all those.

Fallen premiums is also a term I like to throw around for guys like Sloane. I agree the mid-price term should vary depending on which position we are looking at but I tend to talk mid-price around players that haven't reached premium status previously and are looking as a potential break-out player.

I really like the look of this team:

I think outside of Danger and Heeney the best player available down back or forward is Lloyd which is why I put Moore forward.

I could go Lloyd to Milera and Goldy to Grundy but I feel like I’d have too many GWS and Adelaide players for the byes that way.

I honestly think Sloane is a fallen premium but also on the cusp of being a mid pricer based on what people call midpricers when he's 15+ points off the uber premiums in his position, for him to be a successful pick he needs to get pretty close to 105 +, so a bit like a mid pricer he needs to add close to 10 points to his average to be successful pick rather than just add 5 or less points or maintain close to his average.

It's interesting though

Would need to be a keeper for me so pushing close to or above 110 as a midfielder - not really worth the muck around with trades IMO

Structure looks good, and I like quite a lot of your premiums.

Two main observations:

- A few players seem more suited to being upgrade targets if you can find other starting picks you are happy with. I'd put Lloyd, Laird and Smith in that category.

- Your backline rookies could be touch and go, I'm nit sure about Quaynor and McLennan. I like Moore as a broadly rookie priced option.

Good luck!
