I’d go option 2, only if you will look to bring his points on field soon (trading Goldy or English via dpp).

I would move Darling before Setterfield and Parker.

Are you considering Hayes next week?

If so which 3 mid rookies are you looking at downgrading for Ross, Hately and Hayes?
I've had a change of mind this afternoon after reflecting on my current situation vis a vis overall and decided to just to go the balls to the wall approach, so I am bringing Ross in this week, but no Baker. Hately I'll bring in for CWagner next round. Still using my other trade this week for a FWD POD.

For some reason still got mills. Thoughts on mills to Lockhart or just leave him there as an upgrade option later? Thanks

Ranked 29th

And deciding to trade constable and Clark to Rockliff and Lockhart

I know that constable will go up, however this is the easiest way for me to get rocky in this week

Will also be able to take the highest score of stack and Parker
Happy to resist the Tiger cheapies (thankfully they are locked out tonight)

Daniel & Laird this week
Hately/Hayes & Kelly the following week.

Hopefully Answerth is not far away to provide a link with Duursma.
Quite possibly my exact trade ins this week and next.

Laird and Daniel just about locked.

Just need to see another game from Hately/Hayes and go from there.

Option 1, you need to get Rid of Darling but you don’t have the money do you?

Edit: you do actually but only by a few dollars (I thought Darling was in the 360’s) (y)(y)

I don’t think English to O’Brien and Darling to Kelly would be too bad either (edit: Again didn’t realise he put up a 99, so option 1 again)

Tossing some ideas around. Can't get in Baker but could do LDU to Ross or go early on Hately / Hayes. This would allow me to go 1 up / 1 down next week. LDU has been ordinary since rd 3 (when i traded him in for Hore :mad: ).

What do you reckon folks, is it worth trading LDU and, if so, would it be Ross with his dodgy JS or take the risk on a one gamer?
Ross looks good for another 1-2 round. Question is when Cotchin back (who could get delayed) does he still get a game or different role, less CBA etc.

Preference would be Hately given Ward's injury.

Personally I dont like option 2 given ROB has already gone up in price, if anything English to ROB, I prefer, but still not optimal. I think if you are going to pay the inflated price for ROB he needs to be on-field.

I would be much more comforatable with option 1 than 2

Moving LDU on is a given IMO.

Either/or. Ross has the benefit of being the cheapest, its also a plus since he's been in the Tigers have been winning. Add in the Cotchin news and I think that route is very acceptable. It also seems, say, that if Cotchin returns early Ross is first cab off the rank anyway in lieu of any further injuries to that midfield. Understandable though if you pass on him because of the JS.

I'd wait a week on the other rookies just because that's standard practice for a reason. I'm planning to get in Hately next week if he looks as good again this round as he did the last. I think most other people will be in the same boat.

great minds then , after those 4 trades I will have used 9 and only added 1 extra premium and a Mummy to my starting side , need to try and start improving if ASAP or I will be stuck with rookies onfield all season

Have thought about:
Goldstein > Baker via Bines (leaving ROB to temporarily shoulder R2 duties amd enabling multiple upgrades over next three weeks)

Goldstein to Crisp via Bines and Moore (leaving ROB at R2 and only one genuine FWD rookie on-field)

Sideswapping Scott or Balta/Parker for Ross / Baker

But they all feel like forcing the issue too much.
I have the Gawndy combo so don't see value in trading Gawn out but, if I had a R2 that I was intending to upgrade (like Goldy), I would be trading him out, putting ROB on the field and using the cash to good affect until it was time to move ROB on.

Really not sure what I can do this week ($74,300 ITB):

Whitfield, Williams, Smith, Scrimshaw, Duursma, Wilkie (Clark, Burgess)
Cripps, Oliver, Coniglio, MCrouch, BCrouch, Liber, Walsh, Constable (Scott, Atkins, Gibbons)
Grundy, Gawn (O'Brien)
Danger, Heeney, Boak, Billings, Moore, Drew (Parker, Bines)

Rookies its to early to trade Scrimshaw, Duursma, Wilkie, Walsh, Constable, Scott, Atkins, Gibbons, O'Brien, Drew, Parker

So that leaves Clark, Burgess, Parker. Burgess not really worth so that really only leaves Parker and Clark.

Had toyed with Grundy out for Telly and Parker to Baker which would leave around $325k to go Schrimshaw to Lloyd next week, but not sure if it is worth the trade to burn Grundy and then have to get him back later. Ideally I would like to get ROB on field, but at the cost of trading Grundy or Gawn is probably not a good move.

Would be looking to get in Baker, Ross???, Hayes, Hately not sure on Lockhart in over the next 2 weeks.

Possibily:

Parker to Baker
Clark to Lockhart

Leaving $266,600 to get in Telly and maybe either Hayes/Hately next week. Anyone else have any ideas?
Any other thoughts? I've got an itchy trade finger ;)

I had contemplated that option myself especially with Goldy facing Ryder/Lycett combo this weekend who have good success shutting down rucks this year.

Agreed about trying to get ROB onfield, such a waste of points to have him ticking over ~ 85 a week and it being frittered away on the bench.

Tim Kelly’s breakeven is still 119 or something like that, I know that this week for me Rockliff is my main goal to get in my team. Although Tim Kelly just had a great game, the best time to get him in isn’t this week but next week, not sure how much you people think he will score, but with a bit of a tag over the weekend he may drop another 5-10k?

If you wait for the perfect break-even you may never build the team you want. Injuries, suspensions, must-have rookies appearing suddenly, surprisingly high or low scores putting your targets out of reach or stalling your cash cows - all of these can lay waste to the best laid plans. A be of 119 for a player you're picking to average 100+ is perfectly fine, and if teams are in a position to get him they should jump IMHO.

My issue with going Goldy to T.Kelly for example is it puts Drew onto the bench.

What are people’s thoughts on the following:

Goldy -> Boak
Darling -> Baker

Pocket the 200k and then bring in Hately and Sicily/Laird or T.Kelly next week via Clark or Collins

If I do that trade this would be how my team looks:

Can then do Scott + Clark to Hately + T.Kelly next week

Is it worth the risk or go safer with:
Collins -> Baker
Darling -> T.Kelly

?

I am doing this...goldy to baker locked in
My second trade in still TBC but likely Parker or Clark out to a mid or fwd premium to get the weakest rookie score off field.

Kelly and Hately the odds on favourites to join my team next week

Sounds ok, unless your worried about JS for Lockhart. I would trade Mills in a flash, promises plenty, but clearly not up to it.

Looks great getting uncontested ball, but when he plays 1 on 1 he can't handle it. Was roughed up a bit last week and didn't like it, appears the non aggressive type, also targeted by multiple Carlton players last year, which drastically affected his influence. Just my 2c.
